Be your OWN strength.

Trying to keep your head up all day every day can be difficult sometimes — especially if it feels like nothing is going your way. For a lot of us, it is so much easier to just bury our heads under the covers and wait until whatever is bothering us to blow over.
For some of us, it's become a habit to shrug off our problems and continue being confident, happy people. If you are anything like me, though, you can't always just shake it off and move on right away. Sometimes, I need a little more resolve than a happy-go-lucky attitude.
So what are people like me supposed to do? Where are we supposed to turn for that strength we need to go on again?
It might sound cheesy, but I turn to reading the work of my favorite writers. Ones who have been there, done that and have written through everything. I really believe that reading about someone else's strength gives me the confidence and courage I need to take a step forward.
That is why K. D. Lall's poems and quotes are SO important. Her SUPER popular @PoetryFalls on Instagram is a haven for anyone out there who needs a little boost of confidence in their lives.
She writes about many topics, but one recurring one is finding strength within yourself. She expresses that only you can be the force to bring yourself out of a bad mood or be a more confident person.
One of my favorite poems of hers is about finding beauty in her name "Kaur" (#2 below). She explains that her middle name, Kaur, means "princess" in Punjabi and that in Sikhism, all of the women are given this name as a sign of equality to each other, as well as a status of equality to men.
In addition to living a life equal to everyone else in the world, K. K. Lall believes that you should treat your body as a temple, where only beauty and strength reside.
