All You Need Is Love: Gay Parenting Is Just Parenting

As LGBT relationships fight for recognition in our country, people are starting to realize that there's nothing wrong with having a gay love story.
But now, another topic is brought to the table: gay parenting. We explore the issue of raising kids as a gay parent — and if it should even be an issue at all.

Relationship and dating experts and coaches Frankie Bashan, Rick Clemons, J. Cameron Gantt and Mary Malia sat down with YourTango Experts Senior VP Melanie Gorman to tackle a hot topic question: is growing up with gay parents any different than growing up with heterosexual "'rents"? Many people think that having gay parents can cause the kids to grow up to be gay. This belief pushes the idea that homosexuality is choice when it actually is not. People who are gay are born this way and cannot choose to be heterosexual. The truth is that gay parents can raise healthy children as easily as straight couples. The sexuality of the parents will not affect the children negatively at all. It is highly ignorant for people to think that it will.
