Hello and thank you for taking a moment to read a bit more about me. My name is Melanie Gorman and I am the Senior VP of YourTango Experts.

Our state-of-the-art service addresses the business, marketing and blogging needs Experts must master in order to build a successful presence online and bring their practices into the twenty-first century.

Like most of the other professionals here, I went to undergraduate and graduate school; my chosen field was psychology. I worked for several years as a relationship counselor; working extensively with singles and helping them to learn how to date successfully.

Over the past decade, as the professions of relationship & dating coaching grew in popularity, I worked with Dr. John Gray, author of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, as his Director of Operations for the Mars Venus sites. My time there allowed me to master the operational needs Experts have when bringing their business out of “one-to-one” services and into “one-to-many”.

At this time in my career, my expertise is in helping professionals understand what is required to efficiently bring one’s practice online. I coach Experts on how to develop products that meet consumer needs while maintain professional boundaries.

What does this mean for you? If you have a book in your head, an idea you want to explore or you're simply curious about how to take your practice/business into a more "thriving" arena, my team and I can help.

On a more personal note, when I'm not helping people with their love lives, I divide my time between being a mom, wife, foodie and Huffington Post blogger.

The Reason I Became A Helping Professional

When I first started out, I couldn't imagine a different profession than the one I'm in. Helping people is both instinctive and natural to me.

Over the years I have learned that there is a time and place for everything and when someone is genuinely ready for change, I am honored to be the one there to help and assist. I know that the person I'm helping with is doing all of the work and that they are the one making changes. My job is to guide, encourage, support and lead towards change, but the real work is done by the individual.

I can honestly say that it's a privilege to work in this field. After 15 years, I wouldn't have it any other way.
