An Appreciation Letter To My Best Guy Friend
He is my person and my best friend.
By Ashlyn Thomson
Friend, a word describing a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. Best friend, one person’s closest friend.
Me, I’ve been blessed with a best friend for life.
I have a guy best friend, and he has been my best friend for four years now. He knows me better than I know myself.
He knows what I like, how to make me feel better when I have a bad day, and, most importantly, can rap “No Option” by Post Malone, with me.
He is my go-to person, he is the keeper to most of my secrets, the person whose approval I need for almost everything I do. He is my Snapchat best friend, as I am his.
He is the person who pushes me to be better, but also pushes me to do what I love. He is the person to give thanks for my constant smiling, happy self.
He is the person who I call for advice. He is the person who gives me strength. The person I constantly think about. The person I’d be lost without.
He is my person and my best friend.
When I moved across the country, it was our daily communication that kept me sane. When I started dating, it was him that allowed me to see the truth behind their wants.
When I was head over heels for a new profession, he was more excited than I was. When I broke down and was lost with what to do next, he was the one to help me pull myself back up.
He has always been there even when I don’t deserve him to be. So this article, it’s my appreciation to you, boo.
I appreciate you and everything you do. Without you, I don’t know who I’d be, where I’d be, or who I’d be with. You are my person, you are my savior, and my guider.
Despite my dad, you are my favorite man out there, and always will be.
I am ever so glad we met and clicked right away. Despite our few differences, I freaking love you.
I love the way you get mad if I don’t say it back. The way you talk to your friends about me and the way I talk to mine about you.
I love our daily selfies, although we get them once a week. I love your jokes, and how you pretend to laugh at mine.
But, most importantly, I love how we bring out the best in each other.
You are my best friend and I love you. Thank you for being you. I cannot wait for what is in store for the years to come!
