Who Is Sara Foster's Husband And David Foster's Son-In-Law? Everything To Know About Tommy Haas
He's a professional tennis player.
There is no shortage of headlines for the Foster family today.
David Foster is a longtime musician whose first-ever mainstream credit was as a co-writer for the classic Earth, Wind, and Fire track, "After The Love Has Gone," which earned him a songwriting Grammy back in 1980. And while Real Housewives fans know him because of his marriage to Yolanda Hadid, he recently revealed in a new documentary that he will "never disclose" why he divorced the socialite.
This revelation is one of many in a new documentary, called David Foster: Off The Record, which premiered today on Netflix.
Other revelations in the documentary include intel about his family life and appearances from family members, including daughters Sara and Erin Foster (his kids with Rebecca Dyer, alongside a third daughter, Jordan) who appear together in the documentary.
Their appearances sparked interest in the personal life of his eldest daughter with Dyer, Sara Foster, who's an actress, model, and (very funny) social media influencer with two kids of her own and a famous tennis-playing husband.
Who is Sara Foster's husband and David Foster's son-in-law, Tommy Haas?
He made his name as a professional tennis player.
A native of Germany, Tommy Haas is a professional tennis player who started playing the sport at just 4 years old. At the age of 13, he came to the United States to train at the prestigious Bollettieri Academy for tennis in Bradenton, FL. Of the 15 career titles in singles that he's earned over the course of his professional career, the most prestigious award was his win at the Masters tournament in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2001. He also has a silver medal in tennis from the 2000 Summer Olympics.
He didn't become a United States citizen until 2010.
Throughout his career, Haas represented his native country of Germany. However, on January 27, 2010, Haas became a United States citizen. However, he continued to represent Germany throughout his tennis career.
Haas married Sara Foster in 2010.
Foster made her name as an actress, most notably as Jennifer Clark on the rebooted version of 90210. Today, Sara and her sister Erin have a deal with 20th Century Fox, where they are commissioned with writing their own shows for the company. The sisters also starred in their own show, Barely Famous, on VH1. And Sara Foster even does hilariously cute TikToks with her daughter.
Only three people were at their wedding.
Despite all of Sara Foster's celebrity connections — partly due to her acting career, and partly due to her father's celebrated history — she only had three people at her wedding: herself, Tommy Haas, and the priest that married them. "The wedding is going to consist of three people: him, me and the person who marries us. This is what I wanna do. I feel like the vows you say are very private (and) you don't need anyone to listen to them, just him and the priest," she said at the time.
The couple has two daughters.
Sara Foster and Tommy Haas have two daughters together. Their first daughter, Valentina, was born in 2011. Their second daughter, Josephine, was born in 2015. In fact, Kate Hudson and Jennifer Meyer — who Foster is very close friends with — were in attendance at Josephine's birth, and Kate Hudson took to her Instagram to share the news. "These are the moments in life that make you stop in your tracks. To see your life long friends give life and grow their families is the most heart-expanding experience. I love you @iamsarafoster @tommyhaasofficial Congrats and welcome to the world beautiful angel girl born 11/11!" she wrote as a caption to the picture below.
Haas is sponsored by a number of high-profile companies.
According to Tommy Haas's Instagram, he has a number of endorsements from high-profile companies. Some of his many endorsers include FILA's tennis division, HEAD tennis products, Masimo personal health oximeter, and Champion Porsche, which has "over 22 acres of Porsches."
He's coming out of retirement to play again.
Later this month, Tommy Haas will come out of retirement to play tennis again in Berlin for exhibition matches. He won't be playing for titles but he will be back on the court. “Who knows me knows that I don't come to Berlin just to be a good training partner,” he said.
It seems like talent definitely runs in David Foster's family.
