What Steve Jobs has taught us about living life to its fullest.

Life is too short and too precious to waste time being unhappy, resentful or dissatisfied. You are the only one responsible for your own perceptions of the reality that you live in and you are the only one who can change it! Every moment offers a choice of what we think, say and do. We never know when our last day of living may be, so it is important to live life to its fullest and make the most of what we have at this time. But how can we do this when we feel "stuck"?

Many people feel trapped in their bodies, situations and chosen lifestyles — like they do not have a choice in how they live day to day. Some feel they are a "victim of society" and can"t seem to get out of the rut of dissatisfaction. The truth is, we all have the ability to improve the quality of our life and make different choices to feel better physically, mentally, emotionally and soulfully. Recent news of the shocking death of Steve Jobs deeply affected many people who admired his extraordinary contributions to technology. Perhaps he's received more recognition and appreciation since his passing, as his quotes and tributes are spreading throughout the media and social networks. In his 2005 Stanford University commencement address, Steve recalls asking himself in the mirror every single day, If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today? I invite you to adopt this practice in asking yourself this reflective question daily. If the answer is no too often, then do something different and make a change in the way you live your life.

Jobs went on to say this poignant statement that has had a profound effect on me as I re-read several times until I felt compelled to truly make a difference in how I choose to live the rest of my own life. 6 Tips for Living Authentically

"Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure — these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."
