“Pancreatitis can occur as acute pancreatitis — meaning it appears suddenly and lasts for days. Some people develop chronic pancreatitis, which is pancreatitis that occurs over many years,” the Mayo Clinic states.

Travis Barker experienced severe pain before his pancreatitis diagnosis.

A source told ET, "Travis was sick and had intense pain in his abdomen and it really concerned him and Kourtney. They called 911 and he was rushed to the hospital. After speaking with Travis and running several tests, doctors said Travis is suffering from pancreatitis.”

The source did not know what caused the pancreatitis.

Travis Barker has previously suffered from blood clots.

Back in June of 2018, Barker was admitted to the hospital due to blood clots that were discovered in both of his arms.

When he was released Monday, June 18, he had to be readmitted the next morning because the situation became more serious. It was then determined that Barker was battling a staph infection and cellulitis, an infection of the skin.

At the time, Barker's band took to Twitter to respond to concerns about his health.

Doctors treated Barker with blood thinners and ensured the clots did not travel to his heart or lungs. Barker kept a positive attitude throughout the ordeal, but Blink 182 had to cancel upcoming shows for their Las Vegas residency at the Palms.

Travis Barker also suffered serious health issues after his 2008 plane crash.

In September of 2008, Barker boarded a private jet with close from Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, and other members of Barker's team.

Shortly before takeoff, the jet blew a tire out, and the captain attempted to abort takeoff at high speed resulting in the jet crashing.

Barker and Goldstein survived, but Barker suffered third-degree burns on 65% of his body and required twenty-six surgeries.

Two pilots along with Barker's assistant and security guard died. Goldstein died of a drug overdose a year later.

Barker suffered from PTSD and turned to painkillers and opioids. His health detiriorated to the point that he depleted his body of calcium and developed Osteoperosis. He said he awoke in the hospital multiple times because his opioid tolerance was very high.

Rarely sleeping at night, Barker admitted that "I couldn't walk down the street. If I saw a plane [in the sky], I was determined it was going to crash, and I just didn't want to see it."

Barker realized he needed to change, so he took all his prescribed medication and flushed it down the toilet, "including the stuff that I really needed," he says. He regularly attended therapy to help cope with the trauma, and slowly, it dissipated.
