Who Is Corey Rae? New Details On Amber Heard's Golden Globes Date (And Possible Girlfriend)
She's an activist for trans rights.
Amber Heard made a splash at the 2019 Golden Globes earlier this week with her amazing dress and with her date. Heard took her close friend, transgendered model and activist Corey Rae to the Golden Globes. Rae looked nearly as stunning as Heard and the two looked like they were having a blast together. The friends were seen laughing, holding hands, and having fun all night. Even though Heard identifies as bisexual, she and Rae were not on a date, there are just good friends. Who is Corey Rae?
1. California girl
Corey Rae was born in California. She is 25 years old. She lived in New York and New Jersey for 17 years. She bought a one-way ticket back home to Los Angeles in early 2017. Corey Rae is a transgender activist, entertainer, model, writer, and public speaker whose mission is to help break social stigmas surrounding transgender women.
2. She blogs
Corey Rae writes a website where she talks about her thoughts and experiences as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. She shares her own experiences as well as the stories of other members of her community. “I’ve been lucky enough to live an ‘abnormally normal life’ by being stealth in college, and I admit to not identifying wholly with being transgender in the past. Knowing that I’ve become my own dream come true, I have my sights set on making a monumental difference for the transgender community," she wrote on her site.
3. She's here to help you keep your New Year's resolutions
Rae writes a monthly column at Style Caster. In a recent post she tackled the subject of New Year's resolutions. She recommended setting realistic resolutions and offered suggestions for ways to stick to them in the new year. She wrote,“What if I challenged myself to read 10 pages a day, instead of just setting the goal to read more consistently? Anyone can find the time to read 10 pages. Even if they’re busy with other resolutions, like moving across the country or crafting a job that doesn’t require them to sit in an office 40 hours a week (both of which were goals I set — and accomplished — in 2017 and 2018)."
4. Her friendship with Amber Heard
Rae was asked if she and Heard were a couple. Even though a source told People that they are just friends, Rae left it a bit to the imagination. “All I have to say is that we have a very special relationship and we’re close friends. Everyone can piece that together for what they will. But you know, it’s all fun, it’s all interesting.”She’s just so beautiful, and everything about her is so charming. She has such a wonderful energy. For me, watching someone like her made me more comfortable at the show. We were very comfortable and it made me feel very at ease and confident being with her. I felt right at home.”
5. Her double life
Rae transitioned early in high school, which allowed her to be just a regular girl in college; she didn't tell her friends that she had been a boy. She never really considered her role in the LGBTQ+ community until Caitlin Jenner came out in 2015 and people started openly talking about trans rights. She was still living that double life of not telling people who met her post-transition about her journey. However, when the massacre at Pulse nightclub in Orlando happened in 2016, she felt compelled to open up about her life. Seeing those 49 lives taken made her realize that her own double life was weighing heavily on her. She came out to everyone in her circle.
