Being the middle sibling is hard. Not only do you grow up in hand-me-downs, but you also have to give away your own things to the next child who comes around. The sibling who comes before you get special treatment and gets to experience the "only child" treatment while the one who comes after you gets to be the precious little baby.
It's especially the worst because you see them getting all the attention and treatment you used to get.
It can be fun being a big sibling, but it's the worst not being the youngest anymore.
As the youngest, I'd like to apologize on behalf of all of us for taking your favorite toys, wearing all of your clothes, and basically ruining your childhood. But it isn't all bad! When you're the middle child you can get away with a lot more (and these funny sibling memes below prove it).
You have an older sibling to look out for you and a younger sibling to do your chores for $1 because they think that's a lot of money.
If you have a huge age gap with your siblings then it can be even worse. You got to live as the youngest child in your family for 6 or 7 years, and then it all got ripped away from you. Let's admit it, though. There's nothing better than the first time you get to meet the newest member of your family. It is one of the best things in the world.
Just like anything, there are pros and cons of being in the middle age-wise.
As the middle child, you can get lost in the hustle and bustle.
This also means you can get away with A LOT of things your other siblings wouldn't. Got a bad grade on a test? That's okay, your older sibling got a speeding ticket that same week. There are so many negative things that people associate with being the middle child, but in reality it can be so much fun. Or at least that's what they tell me...
