Whenever I think about all the different kinds of bridesmaids there are out there, I always think about the movie Bridesmaids with Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph.
I mean, besides being hilarious, you’ve got a bunch of different personalities together in one situation, which is both chaotic and funny.
There’s the best friend of the bride who has known the bride since they were little, the one who just wants to get drunk and party, the responsible one who might get a little overwhelmed with everything going on, the one who plans everything, and more.
This movie in itself can match up to the zodiac signs and how they all act differently when they’re asked to be bridesmaids.
I see a few different zodiac signs in the women from the movie Bridesmaids and there are many more personalities out there based on horoscopes.
Being a bridesmaid is a big responsibility — and one that is not contingent on one task before you can go back to the party.
Not only are you standing by your friend’s side during this important day, but you’re also being a “maid” of sorts; bringing her anything she wants, anticipating her needs, and ensuring that everything goes right, even when weddings are notoriously known for being unpredictable.
The bride could have chosen anyone to be her bridesmaid, but the fact that she chose you is an honor. I have never been in a position to be anyone’s bridesmaid, but I assume that it’s gotta be hard work, especially if you’re dealing with a Bridezilla (AKA the bride who acts like Godzilla on her wedding day).
I’m thankful that my friends are sweet and nice, but trust me, if it was my big day, I would probably turn into a Bridezilla too because of all the stress and expectation of a successful wedding day.
Oh, and as a bridesmaid, your duties can even extend to the reception after the ceremony. Of course, the bride is going to have her brand new beau to take care of her now, but there are some things that she still needs her girls for.
And until that (hopefully not gaudy) bridesmaid’s dress comes off, you are on the clock. It’s not all terrible, though.
I mean, you still get to drink champagne with your BFFs and get your hair and makeup done by a pro, so it’s still a party.
But if the bride starts freaking out or realizes she forgot her shoes at home, you’re the one who has to act fast. So, what type of bridesmaid are you, based on astrology? Read on to find out!
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries, you are the bridesmaid that is always ready to lend a helping hand to the bride and the rest of the bridal party. You’re able to solve problems with quick fixes without breaking a sweat. A little tear on someone’s dress?
You’ll find a needle and thread. Is the champagne running low? You’ll go grab some more. When you’re around, everyone else can relax because you can pull off the impossible and make sure your BFF has a perfect wedding.
For you, this hectic event is just a rush of adrenaline for you. You thrive in high-pressure situations and being a bridesmaid is like a whole new challenge for you. Plus, you’re a total sucker for romantic situations, so in between being everyone’s lifesaver, you’re most likely dabbing at the happy tears in your eyes.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus, you’re always using your head, so your friend’s big day is a chance for you to keep a level head while everyone else is running around like chickens with their heads cut off. You know that weddings are bound to have some unforeseen circumstances, so you try to use your practical nature to predict anything.
You’re the one who brings extra makeup and a spare curling iron, along with a calming presence when things get too out of control. You’ve also got an eye for beauty, which is probably part of the reason you were asked to be a bridesmaid in the first place.
You know what works aesthetically, so when you’re not making sure the venue looks flawless, you’re speaking to the photographer about angles and making sure the bride and her bridesmaids are cameras — and wedding-ready.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini, you are the bridesmaid who has probably known the bride ever since the two of you were young. So, naturally, you’re the one who entertains everyone before and after the ceremony with stories of your childhood — in fact, if you’re not the Maid of Honor, you’ll probably be one of the speech-makers.
Everyone loves your stories and you’re all for talking about how the bride started planning for her wedding day when she was just a little girl, among other cute things. When you’re not sharing anecdotes and chatting up the groomsmen, you’re most likely taking pictures.
Sure, there’s a photographer, but there’s something about candid shots that you know will look amazing on your Instagram page – which you’re uploading them to right now. You know live-tweeting the ceremony is tacky, but no one said anything about sharing a video of the reception!
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer, you are the bridesmaid that every bride needs on her big day. You're the nurturer who wants to make sure everyone has whatever they need, whenever they need — like tissues, for instance — especially since you know you're gonna need them too, and you're pretty good at anticipating people's needs.
You're not a HUGE fan of getting yelled at, though (but who is?), so you try to keep your cool even when the bride is in freak-out mode. You might be crying for another reason besides joy and excitement for your friend, but you still know that today is her big day, so you can let it slide this one time.
You would do almost anything for your family and friends, and now it's your turn to be the cheerleader for your friend today since she's always been one for you.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo, you're the bridesmaid who is going to be making the crazy long speech about the bride, your friendship, and her future with her new beau. You will definitely have to fight with Gemini on which one of you gets to be Maid of Honor and you'll be the bridesmaid who catches the bouquet at the end of the reception — even if that means throwing an elbow or ripping your dress.
Hey, the bride is just gonna have to deal because this is just as much your day as it is hers (only half-serious). You really just love a good party and no party is better than one with all of your closest friends celebrating together.
You'll be the bridesmaid flirting with all the groomsmen and crushing it on the dance floor — in other words, the one making the wedding extra memorable. You might also be the bridesmaid that drinks a little too much champagne, but who cares?! It's a party!
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo, you're the bridesmaid that does all of the planning and scheduling for the bride. She actually didn't even need to hire a wedding planner because she knew that the two of you together could plan a wedding better than any wedding planner could.
You'll definitely need to relax and put your checklist away once everything gets started and actually enjoy the wedding, but it'll certainly be hard for the person who wants everything to be perfect. But trust me, this perfectionist vibe you have going on is what's going to make this day count.
Your super-focused attitude and attention to detail are what's going to make all of the guests (and the bride and her beau) shed a tear — and post the details you added to their Pinterest pages.
You're so good that you might want to bring some business cards along because someone else is bound to want your help for their wedding.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libra, when it's your friend's big day, you're incredibly pumped. You might be a bridesmaid (and need to lend your services to the bridal party), you're excited for the party, too. This is your chance to let loose, have some fun, and get to know some of those groomsmen on a more personal basis. Before the wedding starts, you're the bridesmaid who is right by the bride's side, making sure that her makeup is perfect and her hair is flawless. If anyone knows the most about eye-catching beauty, it's you, so she definitely needs you close by.
You're also great at sharing some soothing words if the bride gets a little nervous – and everyone needs a friend like that. After the wedding, you're ready for some fun. The reception is your chance to get out of those uncomfortable heels and hit the dance floor with a glass of champagne in your hand. You especially love destination weddings because it's your chance to explore a new place and really make some new friends.

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpio, you've always enjoyed working behind the scenes; making sure that everything is up to the bride's standards and then some. As a bridesmaid, you're most likely working with Virgo to ensure that everything goes right.
You're also incredibly intuitive, which means that you're great at anticipating the bridal party's needs before they need them. How do you even do that?! And, of course, as a crazy loyal friend, you would do anything to make sure that the bride has everything on her special day.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius, you always jump for joy when you're invited to a wedding because you love a good get-together with all of your favorite people. And now that you've been asked to be a bridesmaid, you're even more excited for the wedding.
You're the bridesmaid who stands out from the crowd – whether it's because of your tattooed arms or the funky shoes you're wearing, you like bringing a little creativity to your look.
