20 Love Quotes From Ancient Mystic Rumi That Are Crazy BEAUTIFUL
Love, Self

So timeless, they don't feel close to 800 years old.

Thirteenth Century mystic Rumi has taken the world by storm.

When I first “found” him online, I thought he might be a young hip-hop artist or a yogi, but boy, was I wrong!

Today, most people know Rumi for his love poems, but he's written bunches more. He composed over 75,000 verses of poetry ... in just 25 years ... EIGHT centuries ago.

Rumi talks to you like your BFF, whispers in your ear like a lover, and guides you like a guru.

He's romantic. He's wise. And he does what I always want a man to do: he tells it like it is — but he digs deeper.

Bet you'd never catch Rumi holding a remote and scratching his belly. He understands what love, life, and spirituality are, and he doesn’t mind admitting it.

His words pierce and open our hearts. They make us THINK without being so academic and high-brow.

If you haven’t seen him yet, you will. For most women, he brings heaven to earth. He brings us together instead of tearing us apart.

An extra bonus: In a day where there's so much conflict and fear, he talks about love and peace.

His words bridge our understanding of the Middle and Near East, and offer a glimpse at what most people who live there feel inside.

Rumi knew what he was talking about because he lived it. Born wealthy and noble, he had a passionate, most unconventional two-year friendship with a mystic and wanderer named Shams, who was killed by his son in a fit of rage. These poems are Rumi's expression of his grief — as well as their mutual legacy.

Rumi might be so popular today because he was WAAAAY before his time.

More likely he's simply timeless.
