It's always the quiet ones.

In case you somehow missed it, Jared the Subway guy has allegedly struck a plea deal with prosecutors for possession of child porn, among other horrifying charges.

Jared Fogle's home was raided by police in July of this year, but at that time the reasoning was unclear. A close friend of Fogle's, who's also the head of The Jared Foundation, had recently been arrested for child pornography charges. Some people wondered if the raid on Jared's home wasn't just because of his close friendship with this man.

Due to the nature of this case, the public will probably know all the details. Since the victims are minors, their identities will remain anonymous for their own protection.

According to reports, however, Fogle isn't only guilty of possessing child pornography, but he was also aware that the head of his charity possessed it as well. It's also believed that the two men worked together to gather images and footage.

Fogle became famous after appearing in a series of ads for the Subway restaurant chain. In the ads, he claimed that he lost over 300 pounds by walking to and from the restaurant and eating their food.

Jared had remained a spokesman for Subway until his recent legal troubles. Subway has since cut all ties with Fogle. Also, his wife has announced that she's planning on divorcing him.

This is a story that's hard to wrap your head around. If you're having trouble following all of the different developments, here are the 10 most repulsive parts of the story.

1. Together, the two men ran a children's charity.

Fogle founded The Jared Foundation, a children's charity with the goal of fighting childhood obesity. Fogle picked his friend, Russel Taylor, to be head of the charity. The two not only worked together, but were described as best friends and being very close.

2. They shared pornography.

Unfortunately, they were incredibly close. It's believed that Taylor would share videos and images of minors with Fogle. These images and videos supposedly included victims as young as 6 years old.

3. Fogle traveled to New York to have sex with minors.

Fogle is also charged with having sex with at least two minors, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old. Fogle, who lives in Indiana, allegedly drove to New York for these encounters, which he paid for. He's charged with crossing state lines to pay for sex with a minor. The age of consent in Indiana is 16.

4. Allegedly, some videos were filmed in their homes.

Once again, things are still unclear, but it's believed that Taylor filmed several movies in his own home. 500 videos of child pornography were reportedly found on Taylor's hard drive. It's not stated how many of these videos were home made.

5. Children were filmed without their knowledge.

It's also reported that many of these videos seem to show children who are unaware that they're being filmed. Hidden cameras were found around Taylor's house, but he claimed that these cameras were set up for security reasons.

6. One of the victims is allegedly one of Taylor's stepdaughters.

None of the victims have been named, obviously to protect the children involved. It's reported, however, that at least one of Taylor's stepdaughters appears in some of the footage recovered.

7. Taylor filmed local youth football games.

At local youth football games, Taylor was known as the camera man. He would film the local games and then edit and upload the videos to YouTube. Based on what's now known about the man, you have wonder about his true motivations for taping the games.

8. Fogle gave motivational talks to local youths.

Fogle would sometimes accompany Taylor to the youth games and give motivational speeches to the kids.

9. Fogle faces up to 50 years in prison for his crimes.

Before reaching a plea deal with authorities, the charges against Fogle could have amounted to up to 50 years in prison. While no specific sentence has been set, Fogle's plea deal states that it will be between 5 to approximately 11.5 years.

10. Jared's partner profited financially from the charity.

Remember that charity the two men ran? Tax documents for the charity were released during the raid on both men's houses. In 2013, the charity raised less money than it cost to run. Despite that, Taylor still took home $40K. This is unrelated to the child porn charges, but it's still awful.
