Some people take sides when it comes to alcohol or marijuana, but mostly because the government sees one as more harmful than the other. Now, laws are becoming relaxed, and people are starting to marry the two substances to have a good time.

The end result: pot cocktails.

Contributor Matt Merkin decided to get a little experimental and posted a recipe on Liquor.com. What did he come up with?

The "Pot Manhattan." Check out the recipe below:

Step 1: Create Cannabis-Infused Rye Whiskey

  • After your bud is cut and ground up, put it on a baking sheet.
  • Put the baking sheet into oven and set it at 240 degrees Fahrenheit, for 45 minutes.
  • Pour your whiskey of choice into a one-liter jar.
  • Add your cooked cannabis into the jar.
  • Agitate it lightly, then let it sit in sunlight for 48 hours.

For the actual cocktail, you will need 2 oz of your Cannabis-infused Rye Whiskey, 1 oz sweet Vermouth, and 3 dashes of Angostura Bitters. Add all your ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir and then strain it into a coupe glass.

Drink up and enjoy the ride.
