Why You Really Need To Delete Your Ex From Facebook

Have you ever been tempted to check your ex's Facebook profile after a breakup? Does your spouse maintain contact with their old flames on Twitter? If the answer to all of these questions is yes, we've got a serious problem. We tend to continue to keep track of our exes on social media just to check on them. The crazy thing that we don't realize is that one click on their page will lead us to checking their profile every hour just to see if they miss us. What's even worse is that it sort of clouds our decision of whether or not we actually want to get back together — Or if constantly creeping their profile makes us miss what we don't have.

When YourTango Senior VP of Experts Melanie Gorman and relationship experts Mary Kay Cocharo, Jacqueline Williams, Lou Paget and Larry Michel dish on this tough topic, we know that those of us who are currently going through a breakup can totally relate. Seriously, is social media making it impossible for us to get over our exes? Nowadays, it's easier than ever to stay connected thanks to technology, but as we attempt to move on, we're probably better off deleting our exes from our "friends" list — If only to save ourselves from going crazy! There's no way that we can fully break things off and get over someone without cutting all contact. Constantly checking their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media accounts will only make us second guess ourselves.
