Even though you're with a great guy, you're still not sure where the relationship stands. Are unsure if you're his girlfriend? Do you want commitment but are unsure if asking will drive him away? There are actually ways that you can get him to define your relationship without scaring him off.
We agree with dating coach Annie Gleason when she says that bringing up the subject can be risky. She mentions that you should first decide what commitment means to you and then think about how long you and your guy have actually been dating. You don't want to rush him into defining things if it's too soon. Gleason elaborates further by saying that you need to "Tell him openly and honestly how you're feeling, how the relationship is affecting you. And allow him to tell you how's he's feeling!" She also says to remember that if you do bring it up, he may say no or need time to think. Being committed to one woman can be a big decision for a lot of men, and your man (no matter how awesome he is) may need some time to mull it over. You need to be open and honest with him about your feelings — And then let him do the same. This is the only way you two will be able to openly talk about your feelings without having any mixed signals.
