Get Your Mistletoe Ready. 5 Ways To Meet 'The One' This Holiday

Don't be depressed because you're single this holiday. Put yourself out there and meet 'the one.'

Single this holiday season? This is the perfect time of year to expand your social circle and meet a lot of new people in a very short amount of time.

Here are 5 awesome ways to get more dates, and maybe even meet "the one," during this holiday season:

1. Attend as many parties as possible.

This time of year it seems as if almost everyone is throwing a party or get together of some sort. From work parties, to networking events, to friends and family, say yes to everything ... even the ones you only feel so-so about.

Take it a step further and don't just wait for invitations; ask friends and family about what parties they're attending and be their plus one. Sometimes the most random events make the best connections, so make socializing a priority.

2. Participate in winter sports.

Winter sports are very social and a great way to meet new people. For women in particular, men will outnumber them significantly on the slopes, whether you're downhill skiing or Snowboarding.

It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or need to take a lesson, you can do all your flirting in the ski lodge. Some other activities to try are ice skating, show shoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling.

3. Throw your own party, and invite everyone you know.

Deck the halls and put on your own event. If you typically only hang out with certain groups at parties, make sure you diversify. Invite people from a variety of social groups and ask them to bring someone.

Even if you don't meet the love of your life, it may lead to new friendships, or they may know someone you'd be great with. Consider having a theme like an ugly sweater party; it will bring an extra dash of fun and get everyone in a festive and social mood.

4. Put yourself out there and volunteer.

Let's face it; sometimes being single during the holidays can start to play games with your head. It seems like everywhere you go, you see happy couples out and about—Starbucks in one hand, bags filled with holiday gifts in the other. Don't let this phase you.

Dating is a process with ups and downs. One of the best ways to get out of a funk is to do something for someone else. So, instead of sitting around feeling sorry for yourself, change your mindset and think of how you can bring joy to another.

Reach out to someone you know who is going through a hard time, volunteer at an old age home, soup kitchen or kids event. Not only could you meet someone else volunteering, but you will glow and be even more attractive from all the good work you're doing.

Helping + Good Vibes = Sexiness + Attraction. You just can't go wrong!

5. Remember to take care of yourself.

Holidays are such a busy time between the shopping, parties and higher than normal alcohol consumption. It can be easy to let yourself get run down. Balance all the treats and cocktails with self-care. Make it a point to take time for yourself in between all your outings.

Simple things like exercise, a relaxing massage, sleep, eating well 90% of the time, and taking supplements will keep your energy high and leave you ready to enjoy a festive and flirty holiday season.
