To The Girl That Thinks She Isn’t Enough,

I’m all too familiar with your situation. I’ve been there. In fact, I’m still there.

You may think that you’re the only one going through this because you’re so caught up in your own struggle, but this is not the case. Thousands of girls have been where you are before and are still in this situation.

It’s hard, I know.

To see yourself as the person that cannot be the one to fill the hole in someone else’s life.

To find yourself crying at three in the morning from the negative thoughts that continuously gnaw the depths of your mind.

To feeding the everlasting thoughts of being fat, being ugly, being too thin, being worthless, and not being good enough for him to stay.

To continuously give 100 percent to someone, only to have them give back 50.

To shut yourself off and restrict yourself from being you in order to make them like you back.

You were weakened, blinded, defeated. Treated like you had no right, no sight, no light.

But you have to understand that your troublesome wonderings and thoughts are not true, and the people who always leave are not meant to stay in your life.

These people were there to teach you how to grow and how to stand back up because you have always been effervescent and light and good.

Your traits were not meant for them; it was just that you kept on insisting, kept on fighting, kept coming back to them. And this was the result from it.

Girl, just listen to your loved ones, to the people who have good intentions; they know when someone will treat you badly long before you even notice it, and long before they have the chance to do it.

But I also want to point out the most important reason to love yourself: you are a woman. And, as a woman, you are a barrier, bearer, carrier. Stronger than titanium and deeper than an iceberg.

When I look into your eyes, I see a different side: to every story, to every path, to every mind. Your voice may be shaken and small at times, but your heart is always hitting the right strides.

No one can keep up with you but, instead, they always try to diminish every distinguished idea or thought you desired. Others uppercut you to knock the wind out of you, but you still manage to knock them out.

And after all the pain and distraught they’ve caused you, you still manage. Because that’s what you do because that’s who you are.

Because you are a woman.

And if this is not something to be proud of, and to be the reason to love yourself, then I don’t know what will. Because, girl, you are so lovely, you are so good, and you are so worth it.

If others can’t see that — whether it be a boy or a "friend" — then they’re not for you. So, stop chasing them.

You’ll only end up hurting yourself.

Sincerely,

The Girl That’s Learning How To Love Herself Too
