Shiva Safai Confirms Split From Mohamed Hadid By Going Instagram Official With New Boyfriend — Meet Him!
She posted a photo of herself kissing her new boo.
Hold on to your reality TV hats. There is a disruption in the Bravo universe that might be worthy of a new show all of its own. Shiva Safai, a former "Shah of Sunset" guest who ended up on "Second Wives Club" after getting engaged to "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Mohamed Hadid, has a new man in her life.
The 39-year-old reality star split from her 71-year-old fiancé earlier this year after multiple allegations that he cheated. Now she seems to have moved on from all the drama with a new man. Both she and her new boyfriend are busily posting lovey Instagram photos of one another, along with little emoji hearts the make sure we all know they're a thing.
Who is Shiva Safai? Read on for all the details.
1. Making the rounds on Bravo.
Shiva Safai has been a regular on a few different Bravo series since 2013. She and then-boyfriend Mohamed Hadid made a few appearances on "Shahs of Sunset" in 2013. After getting on the Bravo radar that way, she and Hadid started making appearances on the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," where Hadid's ex-wife Yolanda Hadid was a star. Mohamed and Yolanda are the parents of supermodels Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid. There was even talk of making Shiva a regular cast member of RHOBH in 2014. Instead, Shiva and Mohamed just kept making periodic appearances before Shiva was cast on "Second Wives Club" in 2017. That show only lasted one season, however, and Shiva has been off reality TV ever since.
2. Always a finacé, never a bride
Shiva and Mohamed met sometime around 2012, according to a Daily Dish interview cited by People. Despite the 30 year age gap between them, Shiva talked about when they first met at a Beverly Hills eatery. “It was almost love at first sight, I want to say, and it was that instant attraction. And we exchanged phone numbers and the rest is history," she said of their meeting.
Two years later, he took her to Bali for New Year's Eve and surprised her by proposing marriage.“He caught me by surprise and I was just bawling. And he always makes fun of me saying, ‘You never answered my question.’ I was like, ‘I did,’ but I was crying so much" she recalled. "So I was caught by surprise, but it was a great surprise and I did say yes.”
After that, they became staples on Bravo and lived an insanely opulent lifestyle with homes all over the world. The real estate developer got his start designing Ritz Carlton hotels and takes pride in having gorgeous homes. They never managed to get married, however, and stayed engaged for years instead. Maybe he wasn't joking about doubting that she actually said yes to his proposal and that's why they never married.
3. Dark allegations about Mohamed
This took a turn in 2019 when a model accused Mohamed of raping her. Miranda Vee initially claimed that she met Hadid for a meeting but when she got there, he raped her in a hotel room. He sued for defamation and backed up his side of the story with texts showing that the relationship was consensual. A few months later, another model Justyna Monde announced that she too had been having an affair with Mohamed.
4. Staying silent...until now
Shiva kept quiet about the problems in her relationship for quite a while, even though she probably could have hit Bravo up for some air time to go vent about Mohmed on the reality show of her choice. There were rumors that the couple had split up — and who could blame her after finding out about all the cheating? However, neither of them said anything about their relationship status until this week.
Shiva has put a period on her time with Mohamed and opened up a new chapter with a new man. She hit up social media to post a photo of herself kissing a hunky guy last week and captioned it with a simple heart, just in case we couldn't all figure out what was going on.
6. Why go official now?
The timing of going Instagram official could be seen as a little petty. The day before Thanksgiving, Shiva's ex Mohamed had to file for bankruptcy. Hadid's company 901 Strada LLC, filed for reorganization in federal bankruptcy court after being sued for illegally building a mansion that was larger than city rules in Bel Air allowed. The enormous concrete and glass structure was started in 2011 and neighbors in the area had been fighting the construction every step of the way.
In a lawsuit, neighbors said the building was so big as to be basically a hotel that he was building without the proper permits. They also thought it was ugly and they were afraid it would collapse and bring the hillside it was situated on tumbling down onto homes further down. A judge in the case agreed with neighbors as reported by TMZ, saying, "If this house came down the hill it would take a portion of the neighborhood with it." The lawsuit is moving forward and the first court date is in March 2020. Hadid has been ordered to demolish the house and claims he cannot afford to do that.
All this and finding out his ex has a hot, young new man? That's not a great Thanksgiving week.
