Meet Katie Cherry — Musician And Ben Affleck's Girlfriend Who Was With Him During His L.A. Drinking Bender

And it appears that the more you’re in the spotlight, the less likely it is that your relationships will work out.
In the case of Ben Affleck, he’s been through quite a lot. He once was engaged to Jennifer Lopez, before that he dated Gwyneth Paltrow, and in 2005 he married actress Jennifer Garner. The two divorced in 2018 and have three kids together.
But since the divorce, Affleck has been linked to television producer Lindsay Shookus, Playboy model Shauna Sexton, and even a mystery blond woman.
But now, we know the identity of that mystery love interest. Who is Katie Cherry?
1. She's a musician.
Cherry studied film at Berklee College of Music and works as a composer in Los Angeles. According to her IMDB page, in addition to composing, she plays guitar, bass, cello, drums, and the piano. She was also seen in the music studio with Timbaland.
Her credits include music for the movie, To Whom It May Concern, as well as the songs “Put Your Hands on Me,” “Black and White,” and “Alone Now.”
2. She accused The Situation's brother of assault.
But aside from her career as a musician, it's not her first time having a connection to celebrities. Back in October 2010, Cherry alleges she was assaulted by Marc Sorrentino, the brother of Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.
Cherry, whose real name is Kathryn Redino, alleges Sorrentino held her "against her will" in a limo. She got into the limo voluntarily and hung out with The Situation and friends at a local apartment.
When she left the apartment and got into the limo, she asked to be dropped off at her apartment — but the men refused. She also says Sorrentino held a bottle to her neck and threatened her.
3. Cherry and Affleck met online.
Despite her scary run-in, it appears she's still in the early stages getting to know Affleck. But how did they meet?
According to Us Weekly, the new couple met on the dating app Raya a few months ago, and have hung out a few times since then. A source close to the couple said, “They’re very into each other,” while a second source claims the relationship is “nothing that serious at this time.”
4. And they've been out together a lot recently.
Along with being seen with Affleck getting coffee in Los Angeles, she’s also been spotted with him at the UNICEF Masquerade Ball, walking together after the event.
Cherry was with him during his recent drinking relapse at a Halloween party, a little more than a year after Affleck celebrated one year of sobriety. At the party, Affleck was seen knocking back drinks and seemed to be out of it. A video from the party showed the actor inebriated and stumbling, losing his balance at one point and using a car to stabilize himself.
However, the next morning, he arrived at Garner’s home to go trick-or-treating with the kids. He said to the photographers outside, “It happens. It was a slip, but I’m not going to let it derail me.” Garner is also apparently “upset” about his slip-up but is “always supportive.”
5. Afflect has confirmed that he's dating again.
While promoting the Midnight Mission, a charity, he made a post on Instagram that revealed he is, in fact, dating.
He captioned it, “HA, you got me. I’m dating. But let’s be serious for a moment and talk about something that is actually important. I have been in recovery for over a year and part of that is helping out others. @themidnightmission is an incredible organization that helps those in need with housing, training, development and recovery. I’m making a donation today because there are people battling addiction every day that don’t have the resources and need help.”
Said a source to Entertainment Tonight, “Ben has finally taken that step toward a healthier lifestyle and his family couldn’t be happier. Ben wants to date but knows he needs to take it slowly. He wants to ensure he is healthy enough to be a supportive partner. Ben is looking to date someone who is supportive of his clean lifestyle. It has been a long road.”
6. Her ex-boyfriend is connected to Affleck.
Cherry previously dated Chris van Heerden, around the same time van Heerden was training Jennifer Garner. van Heerdeen is the former Welterweight champion in the South African International Boxing Organization. Talk about a close encounter!
