Being labeled an introvert kind of sucks. As a fellow introvert, I know how annoying it can be to constantly have people bombarding you with questions like, "Why don't you just go out more?," or "Why are you so shy?"

It can be very frustrating to be an introverted person, and saddening at times to not be as confident as you would like. It is not that introverts don't want to go out and socialize, it is just that we would rather sit at home curled up with a nice Netflix film and some yummy food. Introverts are officially defined as, "Shy, reluctant individuals," while extroverts are defined as,"Outgoing, overtly expressive individuals."

There are definitely people out there who consider themselves a mixture of both (commonly called ambiverts), but for us tried and true introverts, it can be hard to break out of our shell and take the world by storm. A million people can tell an introvert to become more outgoing, but it is never that easy. A shy person needs time to slowly come out from under their covers and find the motivation to try new things or spark new interests.

For me, going out and trying new things made my anxiety and shy nature slowly fade. These new things were not gigantic life changes, but more like trying a new coffee shop or walking to a nearby park to get some fresh air. I found that even simply putting myself out there and encouraging myself to go out with friends made a huge difference within my introvert-like nature.

While it is may easier said than done, here are 25 motivational quotes to help inspire all the introverts out there to be their best, most authentic selves. Go out into the world and try all of the things you were once too timid to do. Go out for that job opportunity in another state or conquer the fear of waiting in line at that over-crowded Starbucks. Any victory, big or small, is still a victory.

These inspirational quotes will also help remind you that is okay to be introverted and shy at times. Sometimes, the greatest power and the greatest thoughts comes from silence within us. Remember that while it is important to come out of your cave every once in a while, it is equally important to love who you are and the traits you have been given.
