Anyone who grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s probably listened to Blink-182. Okay, you definitely listened to Blink-182. Though the group disbanded in 2009 following Tom Delonge’s exit, they eventually reunited, replacing Delonge with Matt Skiba, the vocalist and guitarist of Alkaline Trio. Together, they made a new album in 2016.

Blink-182 is credited with the development of pop-punk and has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Their influence has given way to popular groups like Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, 5 Seconds of Summer, Paramore, Avril Lavigne, Panic! at the Disco, Mumford & Sons, the Chainsmokers, and so many others. It’s pretty amazing to be considered such legends in the music scene.

Skye Hoppus — formerly Skye Everly — graduated from Pepperdine University in 1994 and worked for MTV Networks west coast division for nearly a decade. But after marriage and having a kid, she switched careers. She founded Childish Clothing, which produces “hip” kids clothes and maternity clothes. She’s also the author of Rock Star Momma, a guide to looking chic and staying a fashionista while pregnant.

In an interview, she revealed how she made the transition. “I stopped working because being pregnant and going to clubs to scout for bands was not such a great fit. But I just couldn’t sit still.I had to do something. I also had a problem: I couldn’t find cool clothes that looked good on my ever-expanding body. I started off designing jeans without that ugly stretchy belly band, so you could even wear them after you had the baby,” she said

According to her, she refused to date him. But it was that rejection that eventually got them together, with Mark recalling, “Tom [DeLonge] always used to embarrass me. Any girl he’d talk to, he’d say, ‘Hey, you wanna go on a date with Mark?’ He asked Skye, my wife, who looked at me and said ‘No.’ That’s how it all started.”

Their son, Jack, was born in August 2002, and celebrated his 16th birthday last year.

But unlike his fashionista mom and rock star dad, Hoppus says their kid isn’t like them: “He’s really different from my husband and me. We’re both outgoing and love a crowd, but Jack isn’t into being the center of attention. He’s content playing on his computer and taking toys apart.”
