Earlier this week, Bucks County Pennsylvania District Attorney announced that 45-year-old Shana Decree and her daughter Dominique had been charged with the murder of five of their immediate family members. Shana allegedly told authorities that everyone wanted to die and it was planned to be murder-suicide but somehow she and her 19-year-old daughter survived unharmed. The women were charged with five counts of homicide each in the murder of two of Shana's children, her sister and twin nieces. They were also charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit criminal homicide. Shana and Dominique Decree murdered Shana's daughter Naa'Irah Smith, 25, and son Damon Jr, 14, her 42-year-old sister Jamilla Campbell, and Campbell's 9-year-old twin daughters Imani and Erika. Who is Shana Decree?

1. A social worker discovered them

When family members could not reach Shana, her sister Jamilla, or any of the kids, they called authorities who sent a social worker out to the apartment complex where Shana and her kids lived to do a welfare check. When no one answered the door, the social worker had a maintenance worker unlock the apartment. Shana was in bed with her daughter Dominique. The five dead bodies were nearby. One person was face up on the bed, another was on the bed, one was propped up sitting against the bed. One of the kids was on the floor. The fifth body was under another body.

2. Stories don't match up

When authorities arrived at the gruesome scene, Shana and Dominique were disoriented. They were rushed to a local hospital. That's when police began to notice that the two women's stories did not match up. At first Shana told the police that her sister Jamilla's boyfriend and two other men broke into the apartment and killed everyone. Soon though, she changed her story and said it was a murder-suicide pact made by the entire family — even the kids. Shana said "All, including the children, were talking about suicide."

3. Demon cult

Shana's estranged husband and Dominique and Damon Jr.'s father Damon Decree Sr. told local media that he believed his wife and daughter were in some kind of cult. "I don't know what kind of cult. And they were talking about demons being all around them." Decree wants his wife and daughter to go to jail for the rest of their life. He said: "I don’t want them in no insane asylum,I want to see them in jail for the rest of their life.” Decree Sr. said he was surprised his estranged wife and daughter killed their family but he knew something odd was going on in the apartment. He said: “This has been going on for the past month. I mean we been calling children’s services, calling the police.”

5. Arraigned without bail

Shana Decree was arraigned early Tuesday morning, February 26th. Her daughter Dominique was arraigned in the afternoon. Both are being held without bail. Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said: “I just feel very confident that we have the two killers locked up that committed these atrocious, atrocious murders."
