Is Kylie Jenner Breastfeeding Stormi? New Photos Suggest She Was Drinking At Coachella
Is Kylie nursing or boozing?
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott welcomed baby Stormi Webster in February of this year. Fans anxiously awaited this pregnancy because no one — and we mean no one — would confirm it (looking at you, Kris and KarJenner sister!). But it all finally came out (literally and figuratively) and Kylie's social media posse were so thrilled for 20-year-old Jenner and 25-year-old Scott when babygirl Stormi was born.
Post-birth, Jenner was less secretive about Stormi and even released adorable (albeit filtered...) photos of the adorable baby to her Instagram. But the presence of newborn baby Webster (more details on Stormi here!) had many fans wondering: Does Kylie Jenner breastfeed Stormi?
When she and her boo Travis Scott were spotted at Coachella this past week, fans weren't too pleaseed to see Jenner drinking what appeared to be alcohol from a red solo cup.
Jenner fans raged at the new mom on social media: "You should be home breastfeeding your daughter. You out here drinking alcohol smh," wrote one fan.
But do we know that what she's drinking is alcohol for sure? And can you drink alcohol at all while breastfeeding? Is Kylie breastfeeding at all?
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, “Ingestion of alcoholic beverages should be minimized and limited to an occasional intake but no more than 0.5 g alcohol per kg body weight, which for a 60 kg mother is approximately 2 oz liquor, 8 oz wine, or 2 beers. Nursing should take place 2 hours or longer after the alcohol intake to minimize its concentration in the ingested milk.” Doctors recommend only drink 1-2 drinks per week.
So technically, Kylie can still drink and breastfeed. (And not for nothing, Stormi just recently turned three months old and that's when most doctors say you can start to drink alcohol — but it's still a little risky.) But that didn't stop the haters.
Fans weighed in on the controversial photos saying, "Hope that's not alcohol if you breastfeed," "I know [you're] a 'celeb' but kids come first," and "I hope you don't drink anything cause it will affect your baby's health. Take care of yourself n Stormi."
It seems the general public has always been hypercritical of Kylie's choices — even going so far as to speculate if Kylie got a breast enhancement (it has thus far never been confirmed) and how that would affect her ability to breastfeed. (There's no scientific evidence a breast enhancement hinders breastfeeding.) The only risk is that a breast enhancement reduces the amount of milk a breast can hold — but it also depends on what type of surgery it was and if there's a lot of scarring on the milk ducts.
The other point of suspicion was Kylie's lack of lip fillers. Her fillers didn't look as big when she was at Coachella, prompting rumors that she's not getting lip injections because shes's breastfeeding, since they're not recommended while pregnant or breastfeeding.
All we know FOR SURE is that Kylie was at Coachella for three days without Stormi. Bad parenting? That's up to you.
There is no physical or concrete evidence that can confirm she's breastfeeding Stormi or not: No photos, comments, or confirmations from any of the family members.
What we can confirm though is that her best friend Jordyn Woods hasn't left her side since giving birth. “[Her] bestie Jordyn… has not left her side at all,” the source says. “But Kylie is really hands-on and doing a lot of the work herself. While Travis has been around, he is not living with Kylie and so that leaves much of the overnight work to her."
"She is up late at night breastfeeding, burping the baby, changing diapers and she is loving it all. Kylie has been even rocking the baby to sleep and while she is exhausted, she sleeps when the baby does, the pair are adorable together.” While we aren't sure if the 'source' is reliable or not, it's the only verbal confirmation — albeit anonymous — that Jenner is, in fact, breastfeeding.
One more thing to consider: All of Kylie's sisters breastfed their children and the KarJenner clan seem to be in cahoots with a lot of their life decisions. So it would make sense that Kylie would follow in her sister's footsteps and take parenting cues from Kourtney and Kim. Especially because her sister's have gushed about breastfeeding.
Kourtney Kardashian told People, "I love the bonding time, love that it’s natural and what your body is made to do, love the benefits for his body and mine." Kim has also said, "It’s such a natural experience and I’m not shy about that."
