For 12 years now, countless resources have gone into finding out what exactly happened to Natalee Hollaway and now, we may finally have the answers.

Human remains likely belonging to Natalee Holloway, the beautiful, blonde all-American girl from Alabama who was just 18 years old when she went missing late one night in 2005 while on her post-high school graduation vacation in Aruba, have been found. It appears that the mystery surrounding her disappearance — how she died, who was at fault, and where her body was buried or disposed of — has finally been solved.

According to a report in The Daily Mail, a tip came in from a man named Gabriel who is the former roommate of Joran van der Sloot's best friend, John.

Gabriel alleges that John told him van der Sloot admitted to giving Holloway a drink spiked with date rape GHB (more commonly known as a "roofie"), after which she choked to death on her own vomit.

Among the gruesome details, he further alleges that Joran "called his father Paulus at that point, who got a burlap bag and stomped on the body to get it to fit before burying the teen in a park" located close by to the hotel in which she had been staying.

The remains are undergoing comprehensive DNA testing expected to yield results sometime next month.

Oddly enough, we will all be able to watch this story unfold with our own eyes.

Each of the tips and discoveries came to Natalee's father, Dave, while filming was underway on upcoming docu-series, "The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway" — which conveniently premieres this Saturday at 7:00 pm on Oxygen, and which will just as conveniently conclude "right around the time the results come back from that DNA test."

In this clip from the upcoming series, Gabriel gives Natalee's father, Dave, his account of what allegedly happened, saying van der Sloot asked the bartender for two drinks and to "fix it good."

As mentioned above, her drink turned out to be laced with the date rape drug GHB, and soon she drank hers, "Natalee she allegedly began 'foaming at the mouth."

Van der Sloot is currently serving out a 28 year-sentence in a Peruvian prison for the 2010 murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramírez, which took place on the night of the fifth anniversary of Natalee's disappearance. While he has never been charged in relation to Holloway's murder or disappearance, he has admitted to giving her a drink on that night of May 30, 2005.

"He panicked, he didn't put her on her side or nothing, and she choked on her vomit," claims Gabriel.

In the past, Dave has shared that upon meeting van der Sloot's father, Paulus, who died after going into cardiac arrest in 2010, the elder van der Sloot stated that "he had to do everything he could to protect his son and would not cooperate with any investigation."

As of this moment in time, Joran is scheduled to be extradited to the U.S. in 2038 to face charges in relation to his alleged attempts to extort $25,000 in cash from Natalee's mother, Beth, in exchange for his revealing the location of her daughter's body.

In an even more bizarre twist to this 12-years-long saga, Joran was married to a Peruvian woman by the name of Leidy Figueroa in July of 2010. His wife unsurprisingly insists van der Sloot has changed, explaining that "he was a 'different man' after finding God and had been 'seeking forgiveness' for the evil he committed in the past."

The two have a now nearly 7-year-old daughter named Dushy, after Joran's grandmother.
