"Being an emotional eater has a purpose — it is to help you soothe all the feelings that you find uncomfortable," he says. To start, he suggests that you "create a dialogue with your eater so that you're having a personal relationship — back and forth — rather than experiencing that just your emotional eater is doing something that's just a terrible habit."
