When was the last time you were really turned on? This morning? Last week? Last year?
What turns you on? A naked body? A specific smell? A certain time of day? Your lover?
If you're a woman, these questions are trickier than they may seem. We know that women's brains are intimately involved in sex, that a woman's level of desire is highly influenced by context, and that women tend to be emotionally involved in sex. But beyond that…we don't know much. We do know that many women—especially older women, but the problem isn't limited to them—feel less sexual excitement than they'd like to, and that some have trouble achieving orgasm. According to WebMD, 43 percent of women experience some form of sexual dysfunction.
Despite its complexity, sex remains a central part of life, an essential part of a healthy marriage, and a wonderful way to connect with another person.
So YourTango wants to know: How would you rate your sex drive? Are you generally satisfied? Are you always raring to go? Or do you wish you had more access to your desire?
Take our poll, and then let us know in the comments. Are you happy with your libido? If not, what, if anything, are you doing about it?
