Former costars Charlize and Keanu are together in real life!
Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves have taken their on-screen romances from The Devil's Advocate and Sweet November out of the multiplex and into real life, according to The National Enquirer. The actors, who have been friends for years, began dating in the wake of Charlize's breakup from her partner of eight years, Stuart Townsend, in January, and have been spotted together around Los Angeles. Ach. So gorgeous it hurts.
Charlize and Keanu played husband and wife in 1997's The Devil's Advocate and then reunited to play lovers kept apart by a fatal disease in 2001's Sweet November. The latter came at a crucial time in Keanu's life—his girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, gave birth to a stillborn daughter in 1999, which devastated both of them. Jennifer was killed in a car accident just months after Sweet November was released (ironically in February) in 2001, and according to sources Charlize was a source of support for Keanu at the time. Is There Really A Best Actress Oscar Curse?
"It was a very difficult time in his life, but Charlize really helped him get through it," the Enquirer's source says. And this year, when Charlize and Stuart decided to go their separate ways, "Keanu kept Charlize's spirits high with his goofy sense of humor and low-key, easy-to-love manner," the source added. "He makes her laugh, which was just what the doctor ordered for her broken heart." Celeb Couples We'd Pair Up
Well, we wouldn't be quite that corny about it, anonymous source, but it's always nice to see extremely beautiful people coupling up. We just hope this doesn't end like either of their movies together—with Al Pacino popping up to chew the scenery and, you know, cause the damnation of all mankind.
