Country singer and hockey player are not moving in together.
Carrie Underwood has offered an as-far-as-we-know-unsolicited denial of reports that she and her hockey player boyfriend are planning on moving in together. "Neither one of us would ever do that," Carrie wrote on her fan club site. "I would never live with my boyfriend…not my style." Carrie has been dating the Ottawa Senators' Mike Fisher for about a year, and publicly thanked him in the liner notes of her new album.
In the past, Carrie has been linked to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, The Bachelor's Travis Stork, and Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford, which we guess proves that she doesn't really have a type. (And then Tony dated Chace's younger sister. Time for the flowchart!) She and Mike met in October 2008 through friends, and in February she was caught on camera at one of his games. We also have to thank the Ottawa Sun for coining the nickname "Fisherwood." Because that's just awesome.
We'd like to know, though, what it is with celebrities and NHL players. In addition to Carrie and Mike, Hilary Duff is dating Mike's former teammate, Mike Comrie; Elisha Cuthbert has moved on from dirtbag Sean Avery to the Calgary Flames' Dion Phaneuf; and then there was the whole Rachel Hunter–Jarret Stoll nonsense. It goes on: Candace Cameron has been married since 1996 to retired NHLer Valeri Bure, Dancing With the Stars alum and singer Willa Ford is married to the Dallas Stars' Mike Modano, and Kellie Pickler invoked Carrie Underwood's hit "Before He Cheats" onstage after her split from Jordin Tootoo of the Nashville Predators. When a Woman's Fed Up
Whew. Looks like big, burly boyfriends with no teeth are the hot new accessory this year. Good thing Alyssa Milano is married and, as far as we know, can't tell a blue line from a penalty box. But if we were that adorable Sidney Crosby, we'd watch out.
