Glamour blogger Shallon Lester brought to our attention a widespread problem plaguing our menfolk: guys seem to really dig crazy chicks. Yes Shallon, I have noticed this, too. But in the post, she gives only a few half-hearted explanations: "Personally, I think guys secretly like the drama. Maybe it makes them feel alive or brings some action to their otherwise dull lives. Or, perhaps it reminds them of the chaos of their own family life as a child (wow, how Dr. Phil am I today?) Or, they could just be weak guys who like being dominated and repressed." [Glamour]
Here are five more theories on why guys seem to loooove crazy women.
1. Men love to be heroes. They love to "fix" things. It makes them feel needed, important, and feeds the male ego. Who makes a better damsel in distress than a poor, defenseless lunachic? Note to guys: a woman is not like a house. Fixer-uppers do not usually turn out to be a wise investment. 2. If she's crazy day to day, chances are she's crazy in the sack. But men don't really care about sex that much, do they? Wait … I think they might.

Look ... there are far more stories about dating crazy women than there are stories about dating not-so-crazy women. The crazies are just more visible. And they've dated more guys.
That said, your reason No. 1 holds up pretty well for a lot of people, though it's soooo not just guys who want to "fix" girls.
If we are talking about something more than a one night stand, I think it has to do with making the girl happy. Most guys like it when they can make a girl happy. I think it becomes a challenge to make the crazy girl happy (for a moment). Because it was so difficult to make her happy, it becomes like gambling, you just keep trying in the hopes you'll win again.
I know so many men who marry the crazy chick in some futile effort to make her happy. Three years and 1-2 kids later, they are miserable and can't figure out why their wife is never happy. Here's a hint boys...she can't *ever* be happy. Once happiness enters the equation, craziness must follow.
Stick with the non-crazy girls (who can be just as crazy in the bedroom) who are happy when you do little things.
Spent part of my weekend with a lunatic, and as you'd expect, she was the one who went home with a fellow. Maybe he thought he could fix her, or maybe he likes blondes. I don't know. But I wouldn't wish that mess on Bernie Madoff.
