About Bobbi Jankovich

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Sherman Oaks, California. In my practice, I focus on individuals (adults and adolescents) and couples with particular emphasis on living a life with purpose and meaning, and developing personal relationships with deeper connections.

When people seek therapy, some suffer with personal or relationship conflict; some struggle with deep-rooted pain; many are looking for support; others are searching for meaning or balance in their lives. Most are looking for ways to heal and grow: beyond the stuckness, beyond the pain, beyond the constant struggle.

I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BA in Psychology, after which I received my MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. Before arriving at private practice, I spent over 5 years working as an intern at the California Family Counseling Center in the postmodern program. There I worked with adults, adolescents, children, and families who struggled with a wide range of issues, including relationship conflicts, pre-marital counseling, separation and divorce, substance and eating issues, body image distortions, anger management, life and family transitions, severe depression and anxiety, parenting and family conflicts, divorced and blended family challenges, grief and loss, economic and career problems, and issues of spirituality.

I also counseled at-risk boys (12 - 19) at the Camp Miller County Probation facility in Malibu where the boys were incarcerated for youth offenses often associated with substance use or gang-related activity. The goal was to create a safe outlet for expression (often for the first time in their lives) and to help them to develop productive skills for coping with anger, difficult ecomonic conditions, developmental issues, and challenges within their support systems. Ultimately, we sought to introduce a sense of personal responsibility and help them discover new vision for their future.

Together with Christina Kousakis, LMFT, I created The Relationship Café, a series of workshops, groups and psychoeducational presentations that offer a therapeutic menu for developing the strong communication skills key to restoring and maintaining resilient, loving connections.

I am also proud to be a member of The Conversation Group, an organization of licensed and pre-licensed therapists who work with clients in a very safe and collaborative way to create conversations that open paths to clarity, insight and healing which can motivate movement toward the life you desire.
