GalTime: What is boudoir photography?

Sheryl Warwick: Think of it as an updated version of the 80’s glamour shots, but with a sexy twist! Boudoir photography is a chance for a woman to be a supermodel for a day and look like those women we see on TV or magazines.

GT: Who is the "typical" client and why?

SW: Clients range from age, size, shape, ethnicity etc. There might not be a “typical” client, but women leave feeling empowered, beautiful and sexy.

GT: Women are generally so self-conscious... would this experience make them feel worse or better?

SW: Every woman has a “problem area” that they are concerned about. It is my job as a photographer to use lighting and posing to highlight their best features. The whole process inspires every woman and they get to keep their images as a reminder of how hot they really are.

GT: What advice do you have for women trying to find a reputable studio?

SW: When looking for a reputable studio, do your research:

1. Check out their website and Facebook page.

2. Research the company using Yelp or Google to give you an indication on what people experienced.

3. Talk to someone who has worked with that studio as a client.

4. Set up a consultation and meet the photographer. Make a list of all the questions you have.

Don’t feel bad about feeling nervous, it's only natural to feel that way. This is probably the first time you have ever done anything like this and might be feeling a little unsure. Building a good rapport will help ease your nerves.

GT: What is the reaction when your clients get their photos?

SW: I love the reaction I get-- from not only clients, but their husbands too! Women are often amazed at how well they look. It’s great to breath back in some inner vixen in my clients. A typical reaction would be “That’s ME?"
