Author

Created by writers and relationship experts Natasha Burton, Meagan McCrary and Julie Fishman, BigRedFlags.com allows women and men to share their craziest dating horror stories.  After collecting these anecdotes for over two years—which include their own red-flag tales—the three wrote The Little Black Book of Big Red Flags: Relationship Warning Signs You Totally Spotted ... But Chose to Ignore (Adams Media, June 2011), a love-life advice guide that features outrageous stories from their blog, along with blunt advice for solving similar situations in your relationships.

The authors specialize in analyzing dating and relationship red flags, and helping women learn to listen to, and follow, their intuitions.

Natasha Burton is a serial monogamist who’s currently the Relationships Editor of Glo.com, a lifestyle website partnered with MSN and ELLE magazine.

Meagan McCrary is an L.A.-based yoga teacher with an adventurous spirit for romance, who currently penns Live by the Stars monthly astrology guide for Glo.com.

Julie Fishman is a sports-playing tomboy turned married comedy writer who teaches at a college in Hollywood and writes for screen, print, and web.

The Reason I Became A Helping Professional

As three close female friends, we frequently swap stories of male conquests-past and present. Yet, when we realized that our anecdotes often lead to what-was-I-thinking-dating-that-guy? conclusions, we figured that other women must have also encountered more than a few big red flags over their dating careers, deciding that there should be a place to share and read these stories—and BigRedFlags.com was born.

After receiving thousands of submissions from women across the country, soon many of them began writing to us for advice, which is why we decided to answer their dating and relationships questions — as well as many more — in our book, The Little Black Book of Big Red Flags: Relationship Warning Signs You Totally Spotted … But Chose to Ignore. The book contains both real red flag stories and blunt guidance on how to navigate similar situations in your own life, giving women a chance to reflect on, and laugh about, the red flag situations they’ve encountered.

The fact is, we’ve all made really, really bad dating decisions. Our book really encourages women to embark on their relationships with awareness—and to stick to what they know, in their guts, is right for them. We hope to empower women by encouraging them to know what works and doesn’t work for them in relationships and take their happiness into their own hands.

We are here on YourTango to help you with your Big Red Flag dilemmas and provide advice through our articles. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.
