Meet Kirby Jenner — Kendall Jenner's 'Fraternal Twin' Lands His Own 'KUWTK' Spinoff
Even Kris Jenner is on board with Kirby!
You may think you know everything about the Kardashian and Jenner family but do you know about Kendall's twin brother Kirby Jenner?
Don't worry if you've never heard of Kirby. You didn't sleep through a season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians where Kris Jenner dropped that bombshell. Even Kendall didn't know she had a twin until a few years ago when Kirby Jenner started an Instagram account on which he posts photos of Kendall with himself photoshopped in.
Or is it that Kendall just usually crops him out of the photos she is in?
Kirby Jenner — real identity unknown — has been adding himself to pics and videos of Kendall since 2015. He's got over a million followers on Instagram who tune in for his amazing editing skills as well as his clever captions. Even Kendall is a fan. Now Kris Jenner has taken notice and she is producing a spin-off of KUWTK for him to be aired on a new streaming platform called Quibi.
Who is Kirby Jenner? Read on for all the details.
1. He is Kendall's "twin brother"
Kirby is obviously Kendall's fraternal twin brother. All you have to do to see it is look at his 2015 photo of himself and Kendall photoshopped as two sides of the same face. Together they are the OG #twinning.
2. Kendall and Kirby together
Kirby posts photos of him and his "twin sis" along with the rest of the Kar-Jenner clan all the time. If you hop over to his Instagram you'll be treated to close family scenes like Kirby and Kanye eating cereal together. Or you might find one of Kendall's fashion photos where Kirby is standing beside her, styled in just the theme of the photo. Maybe you'll catch a glimpse of Kirby posing on a red carpet with Kris, Kim and Khloe. Kirby is obviously just as close to the family as any of his more famous siblings.
3. He is sticking to this story
If you managed to track down Kirby Jenner and ask him about himself, he would tell you he is Kendall's twin. He's given multiple interviews over the years and has never dropped the conceit that he is just another Jenner sibling. He even has a perfectly logical explanation of why he has never been on any of the family's reality shows. Earlier this year, he explained his absence from "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." "One year I was actually supposed to be on the show, but I accidentally got stuck in a drainpipe in front of our house for two months. Another season I walked into the kitchen on the first day of filming and some dude handed me a light because he thought I was part of the crew and the next thing I know I’m in the friggin’ Grip and Electric union — Local 100 or something. It’s dope. I get health insurance now."
As for why Kendall is allegedly cropping him out of her versions of their photos, he has an explanation for that too. "Oh well actually Kendall isn't doing any of the cutting herself...I think it's mostly this guy Mario on her fashion team. "I accidentally flew my drone into his face and I don't think he's forgiven me. Yikes, I know. But also, getting cut out of photos is just part of the fashion world I guess. Gotta just keep moving forward and having fun. Also, I should probably apologize to Mario but at this point, it might be awkward?"
All Kirby's interviews sound like that — as do his Instagram captions — and there is no hint about who he was before becoming Kendall's internet twin. But over a million people follow his Instagram account to see his genius work as a photo editor. His pics and videos are seamless and he styles himself both flawlessly and hilariously. Even Kendall is a fan and she follows him and likes his post on a regular basis.
4. Teaming up with Kris
Kirby has one other influential fan: his “mom” Kris Jenner. The matriarch of the Kardashian empire has teamed up with Kendall to be the executive producer of a reality show all about Kirby. This week, they announced that the new series would run on the soon-to-be-launched streaming service Quibi.
5. Everyone is playing along
The Kardashian-Jenner machine is in on the joke and sticking to the Kirby-Is-Kendall’s-Twin story without blinking. The announcement for the show reads “The ‘unsung hero’ of the Kardashian/Jenner family, Kirby is ready to step in front of the camera for the first time — with the full support of his mother and manager, Kris Jenner.” Kendall added in a statement, “I’m thrilled that Quibi viewers will get an inside look at the life of my twin brother and he’ll finally have the opportunity to shine in this series.”
6. Star-studded show
All of the other siblings will be making appearances on the show. It will be a short-form series called "Kirby Jenner" and, if the writing is anything like Kirby’s Instagram captions, it will probably be hilarious.
"Kirby Jenner" is set to premiere in April 2020, when Qubi officially launches.
