Who Is Raine Michaels? New Details On Bret Michael's Daughter And How She Got In Shape For Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue
She's got her father's signature long blonde hair.
Do you ever wonder what kind of dad Bret Michaels is? I hadn't until today. His 19-year-old daughter Raine is a finalist to be featured in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition. She's blonde, fit, curvy and beautiful. In a weird way, she's kind of what I imagine Bret in his heyday would have looked like as a woman. (Is that weird?) The competition for up-and-coming models to get into the SI Swimsuit Edition is fierce AF. Every aspiring model wants to be featured on the pages of the magazine that launched the careers of Heidi Klum, Elle McPherson and Chrissy Teigen. Raine has a chance to be the next new face of the SI Swimsuit Edition as she is one of six finalists for the Swimsuit model search. Who is Raine Michaels?
1. Proud Papa
Many dads would not be stoked to have their daughter mostly undressed for millions of people to see. But Bret Michaels is not most dads. Back in August 2018, Raine made her runway debut during the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit show in Miami. She told Fox News: “He was so proud. He would call me like every second. He would go, ‘Oh my God, how are you doing? Are you so excited?’ Right before I went on, I was like, ‘Dad, I have to go now.’ And he said, ‘Right, right, but I’m so excited for you! I’m waiting outside, I’ll see you right after!’ I was just like, ‘Oh my goodness, OK.’”
2. She's a model and a college student
Raine has wanted to be a model since she was 13-years-old. Her mother Kristi Gibson is a former model and actress. She is represented by ONE Model Management. She is also a college student attending Belmont University in Tennessee. She admitted she used to think her childhood was a normal one because who didn't go on tour with her dad's band and Lynyrd Skynard? She is well aware of the opportunities open to her because her dad is famous. She said: “Of course, I’m really proud of who he is and what he has done. He’s an amazing person. So, I’m not ashamed that people know I have a celebrity parent. I realize that yes, he can open doors, but I have to work hard to keep them open.”
3. Raine rocks her curves
Raine's inspiration is model Kate Upton. She is proud of her curves and a champion for curvy models. She said: “Kate Upton is one of my biggest role models in life. I’ve always loved that they really want to show that it’s all about inner beauty that shines. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. There’s no one shape or size that’s perfect. And they show that all sizes, all shapes matter, all ethnicities are beautiful. That’s something I really wanted to be a part of because that’s what we need in the world today.”
4. Growing up with Bret Michaels as Dad
Raine and her younger sister Jorja Bleu grew up in the Los Angeles suburb Westlake Village. She has said growing up with the lead singer of Poison as your dad was more normal than you might think. She said:“He’s a regular dad. We go to the beach, play football in the front yard — we just do regular things. But it’s been really cool just getting to meet a lot of people through what he’s done. Anytime that he can be home, he is. And I have gone on tour with him before. But anytime he’s not touring, even if it’s just for two days, he’ll be home with us.”
5. How did she get in shape for the SI shoot?
Raine attends college in Nashville and has a CorePower Yoga membership. She does a class called yoga sculpt, which is basically a cardio/hot yoga combination with weights and ab work. She also works out at a gym called HOTBOX Fitness, which is boxing in a heated room. But she is also quick to mention that a lot of her rock hard abs comes down to genetics since both of her parents are fit, toned and muscular.
