1. Miss Alabama
Hannah Brown started the season strong with her flawless pageant good looks and poise. The 24-year-old was crowned Miss Alabama USA in 2018 and competed to be Miss USA, but was eliminated in early rounds.
She is fiercely loyal to her home state and the University of Alabama and talks about it every chance she gets. She even mentioned it in her toast on the Women Tell All, saying “Cheers to this beautiful day together, new experiences, and continuing to be honest, real, every moment we have together. And … Roll Tide!”
2. Mental Health Awareness
As a contest for Miss Alabama USA, Hannah had a platform that dealt with ending the stigma of talking about mental illness. In her official pageant, she says “After battling a childhood illness, suffering the loss of loved ones to homicide, coupled with suffering from anxiety and depression in college, Hannah is dedicated to starting an open conversation about the freedom to deal with mental health challenges and the importance of forgiveness.”
3. Strong Faith
Hannah refers often to her strong Christian faith and that even affects how she approaches her love life. At the beginning of the season, she told Colton that she doesn’t date “just to date” but that she “dates for marriage.”
While that seemed to throw Colton for a loop, it might make her a perfect choice for the Bachelorette, where she’ll be the one choosing her potential hubby instead of auditioning to be a wife and facing rejection.
4. Family Ties
While meeting Colton’s family was her last interaction with him on The Bachelor, it’s not family as a concept that stresses her out. She’s incredibly close to her own parents and her Instagram page show many photos of all of them together as a family.
5. Colton Didn't Tell.
Colton gave his thoughts on picking someone to be the next bachelorette and told US Weekly that he doesn’t get to make suggestions to the network. But even if he did get to help make the selection, he was hard-pressed to pick a favorite.
“In regards to the decision of picking the next Bachelorette, I wish the Bachelor and the Bachelorette had a say in that, they don’t, so I don’t know. I think there’s multiple women from my season that would make great Bachelorettes, whether it’s Caelynn [Miller-Keyes] or any… I don’t know. There’s a few women. So yeah, I just want to see all of them happy, so it’s hard to just pick one.”
6. Hannah's In.
Despite being eliminated, Hannah is moving forward with a lot of maturity and perspective. She told Chris Harrison “I thought my life was going to be this certain way. I grew up in Alabama. I was gonna marry the guy who I dated for so long right out of college, start spitting out babies. Ultimately, I just thought that was gonna be okay for me."
"But it is not okay for me. I want so much more, and I deserve so much more. This experience and the relationship that I have with Colton just allowed me to see myself in a different way, and be vulnerable with who I am and who I want to be and what type of love I want to have and receive. The desire of my heart is to be loved so fiercely by somebody. I will not allow myself to not feel chosen every single day.”
That sure sounds like a woman who is ready to find true love and can come at it with clear eyes.
The finale of The Bachelor airs next week.
