Is Emily Blunt Pregnant Again? New Details On The Rumors
She and John want more babies.
Emily Blunt is currently starring in Mary Poppins Returns and frankly, we can't wait to see her in that iconic role. Now that filming is over and the movie is out, Emily can get back to her family. She and John Krasiniski are serious #RelationshipGoals. The two are so clearly totally in love, even after two daughters and eight years of marriage. She has had a kick-butt year with A Quiet Place (directed by her husband!) and the Mary Poppins sequel. In fact, Blunt received a SAG nomination for Best Actress for her work in A Quiet Place. We've loved Emily since Devil Wears Prada, but inquiring minds want to know, is she planning to add to her family? Is Emily Blunt pregnant again?
1. Bump watch?
According to a source, Emily put off getting pregnant to film Mary Poppins Returns, but not that is over. Emily and John have not been shy about the fact that they want more kids. Perhaps a little boy will join 4-year-old Hazel and 2-year-old Violet. So if she isn't pregnant yet, if Emily and John have their way, she will be soon!
2. John's reaction to Mary Poppins
The first time John watched his wife play Mary Poppins, Emily thought he wasn't interested in the film. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, John said, “The first time I saw it, they give you a tissue box in the screening room and I thought, ‘Oh, that’s very nice. I don’t have a cold. And they started screening the movie and 25 minutes into the movie, I stood up and went to the back of the room.” The movie made him extremely emotional. “I was pushing through all of the muffins and bagels that were in the back looking for napkins. I was like, ‘I need anything to stop this crying!’ I was crying so much I blew through the tissue box in 20 minutes, had to go to the napkins, and then when I ran out of napkins it was all sweater.” Awwww, does he have an available brother?
3. On playing Mary Poppins
Mary Poppins is one of the most beloved characters in literature and film. Emily had a year to prepare for the role and craft her interpretation of the wacky nanny. The 35-year-old Blunt has always been attracted to roles that challenge her, and this one was no different. Following in Julie Andrews' footsteps was a daunting task for Emily. “I knew I had my work cut out for me just because of how extraordinary the original was and how beautiful Julie was in the original. But I knew that if I was going to take a big swing and carve out new space for myself, if I do it under Rob’s guidance, I’d be all right. He’s kind of a magician. He’s a bit of a Mary Poppins himself.” She is referring to Rob Marshall, the film's director.
4. Rave reviews
The year Emily prepared for her role as Mary Poppins was well spent. Not only has she been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, she's getting rave reviews for Mary Poppins Returns. Blunt lives up to the high bar Julie Andrews set in 1964's original Mary Poppins. The new film is set in London in 1930s during the Depression. It is a couple of decades after Poppins first arrived on Cherry Tree lane to take care of Michael and Jane Banks. The movie catches up with the now-grown up Banks kids. Michael is flailing at work and in his mortgage payments after his wife's death. Mary Poppins swoops in with her carpet bag and umbrella to save the day for Michael's three kids.
