Disturbing Cellphone Videos Recorded By Parkland School Shooter Nikolas Cruz Reveal New Details Of His Plans & Motivation
This footage was just released by prosecutors.
Three videos recorded by Parkland, FL school shooter Nikolas Cruz show him bragging about his plans to call Uber and open fire, sharing his goal of killing at least 20 of students with his AR-15 assault rifle at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and raising the new question about this case, "Who is Angie?"
Released by prosecutors on Wednesday, the short videos (now edited into one) show the 19-year-old detailing his plans and motivations for the mass school shooting during which he murdered 17 people on February 14, 2018.
“It’s gonna be a big event,” Cruz says in the first video. “When you see me on the news you’ll all know who I am.”
Cruz creepily brags about how his victims are going to know the power of his AR-15 and even says in a sing-song voice: "You're all going to die."
"Pew! Pew! Pew! Pew! Pew!" he continues. "Ah yeah. Can’t wait.”
Below is the video, which contains graphic messages. Please watch with caution.
In the video, he says he expects to gain some level of fame or notoriety from the massacre.
“My name is Nik, and I’m going to be the next school shooter of 2018,” Cruz says. “My goal is at least 20 people.”
“Today is the day. The day that it all begins. The day of my massacre shall begin. All the kids in school will run in fear and hide. From the wrath of my power they will know who I am.”
While Cruz doesn't explicitly state his motive for the killings, he does say that he's had "enough" of being "told what to do and when to do" and being called an "idiot and a dumb---."
The only person he singles out is a girl or woman named "Angie," who he vows to love forever.
“I hope to see you in the afterlife,” he says.
The identity of Angie still isn't clear, as her name doesn't belong to any of the wounded or murdered victims, isn't on the list of civilian witnesses who gave statements after the shooting, isn't, as some wonder, the name of his mother, Lynda Cruz, who died of pneumonia approximately three months prior to the Parkland school shooting, and isn't the name of the ex-girlfriend Cruz allegedly stalked and threatened, Dana Craig, 17.
Still, the videos are significant because they prove that Cruz planned to carry out the mass shooting.
"He knew what he was doing," said Andrew Pollack, father of Meadow Pollack, a senior died in the massacre."He was going to be laughing while he was doing it. He laughed in the videos."
