Couples you definitely don't want to be a part of.
It's Thanksgiving. A day to be thankful for everything that you have. A day to appreciate the people in your life. If you are currently mad at your spouse just remember that life could be a whole lot worse and you could be in a relationship that is way more toxic, but honestly if you can relate to these fictional movie couples it might be time to rethink that relationship that you got going on (but think about that tomorrow because today is all about turkey and stuffing and a lot of gravy).
Everyone normally sits around and watches movies about perfect couples, and it makes you sad to think that your relationship will never be that good. The great thing about that is knowing that those perfect couples aren't real, so today you should sit down and think about why your relationship is great instead of dwelling on the bad things, because Thanksgiving is for food and resting and not arguing, and it's also a day to appreciate what you've got. To make it easier for you, we have put together a list of movie couples that are seriously terrible. They are the worst and should make you feel better about whatever situation you're in. Here are 12 relationships that will make you thankful for your boyfriend/girlfriend this Thanksgiving.
1. Blue Valentine
Spoiler ahead: Agree with me or not, but Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling are the worst couple ever and I was pretty happy about them getting divorced.
2. The Break Up
Stuck in a lease and dating other people is a pretty sticky situation to be in. Plus, dating Vince Vaughn isn't high on our list of priorities.
3. My Best Friend's Wedding
That sad moment when Julia's gay BFF reminds her that no one is chasing her. Don't be Julia Roberts. Great movie, bad aspirations. Say a little prayer for her.
4. Revolutionary Road
Spoiler alert: Leo and Kate might take the cake for the worst couple ever. After telling Leo she no longer loves him, Kate gives herself an at-home abortion and dies … so lesson learned?
Yeah, it's fun for like a day until Rose can't move her a*s over on the giant wooden door and Jack dies. Also, telling him you'll never let go and then letting go of his hand one minute later is pretty rude.
6. First Wives Club
Best movie ever, but all three men in this movie are scum and you should be glad that you aren't dating a guy that has left you for a younger woman recently.
7. Celeste and Jesse Forever
The confusing relationship of people who think they can be friends after a breakup. Guess what? You can't.
8. Gone Girl
Spoiler alert: At least your spouse isn't framing you for their murder. So that's a plus.
9. Kramer Vs. Kramer
Worst divorce ever. Meryl and Dustin have some serious marital problems in this movie, and it gets very ugly.
10. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Even watching a marriage collapse in black and white is terrible. Be thankful for color TV and your sane relationship while watching the Burton-Taylor classic.
This guy cheats on his girlfriend with a girl who then begins to stalk him and tries to kill his current girlfriend. So as the current girlfriend, be happy that there's no crazy woman trying to kill you today.
12. The Last Kiss
Every relationship fails in this Zach Braff film, and nothing is worse than being cheated on with Rachel Bilson, who's about as interesting as a piece of cardboard.
