Find out all about Mary-Kate Olsen's fiance, Olivier Sarkozy. She must see something in him, right?
Olivier Sarkozy is very well-connected.
He's the half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy! That's probably why his last name sounded so familiar to you, right?
Her family approves of him, and his family loves her, too.
Olsen, 27, and Sarkozy, 44, have been public since 2012. "Mary-Kate's family thinks Olivier is the best thing to happen to her," a source told Us Weekly. "They love him ... Mary-Kate has made him a better father. She remembers all the kids' special events." Yeah, maybe because he's old enough to be her dad. In any case, the Olsen family is cool with May-December romances: Olsen's twin, Ashley, is also dating an older man, Moneyball director Bennett Miller.
This will be Sarkozy's second marriage ...
He was previously wed to fashion writer and children's book author Charlotte Bernard. They have two children together, 12-year-old Julien and 10-year-old Margo. The couple separated in 2010 and divorced in 2011, and Bernard asked that the prenup they'd drafted together in France be dismissed. Sounds like Olsen and Sarkozy are going to have a Full House indeed.
... And he wasn't sure for a while if it's what he wanted at all.
E! Online reported in December that Olsen was very eager to settle down with her ultra-rich beau, but he was wary of tying the knot again. "Mary-Kate is just 27 but comes across as a lot, lot younger," a source said. "She's clearly very excited about the chance to get married to a very successful, well-educated man, but life isn't always that simple. He's already got kids and is very happy with his status in life ... Olivier has already been through a painful divorce and is simply happy to have a beautiful girlfriend whom he loves. The future can take care of itself."
Again, he's ultra-rich.
Sarkozy and Olsen live in a $6.25 million (pennies for MK) townhouse in New York City, and he's worth about $60 million. Must be nice!
