No-Shave November: Interviews With Men In Mustaches, Part 2

Love, Self

It's Movember! Meet three mustachioed fellas who are raising beards and money.

We are proud to introduce Matt, Greg and Doron, three stand-up guys standing up to men's health and education issues. With the support of their husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends, men all across the country are growing out their 'staches and beards for a good cause. For those of you not familiar with Movember (aka No-Shave November), men go shave-free for the month of November and raise money for different men's health charities.

The Movember organization describes their vision as wanting "to have an everlasting impact on men's health." This is a very admirable goal, so let's give a hand to the men profiled here today! And remember, it's never too late to get involved and donate!

Name: Matt Schwarz, Captain of House of Mo
Age: 34
Hometown: Washington, DC
Charity of Choice: Movember Foundation, Livestrong Foundation, Prostate Cancer Foundation.
What made you decide to take part in Movember? The motivation driving me to raise money for Movember is that my father has battled prostate cancer for over seven years. I believe it is a major health issue that deserves attention.
Do you have a significant other? I sure do. His name is Jon and he is participating on my team as well. In fact, we are both growing the same style mustache this year: "The Trucker"
What does he think of the facial hair? He supports it full-force but I think he'll be as happy as I will be to go back to a full beard!
Think you'll keep the 'stache once Movember is over? I'll keep the 'stache as long as it takes for my full beard to overtake it!
Name: Greg Markles
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Charity of Choice: American Cancer Association
What made you decide to take part in Movember? I decided to take part in Movember because of the men in my life that have been affected by cancer (I've lost my father, uncle, grandfather and good friend, among others). To bring awareness and help raise money for the cause. Mostly to create awareness to get regular check-ups which men don't often do so on their own.
Do you have a significant other? Yes, my wife [Sienna] of 5 years (10 years together).
What does she think of the facial hair? Sienna: Well, I love how Greg looks with facial hair, whether it's a goatee or a bushy winter beard - but it makes for scratchy kissing!
Think you'll keep the 'stache once Movember is over? Not sure...Might shave or grow out my goatee - or see if the sheriff's department is hiring...
Name: Doron Fialkov
Hometown: Haifa, Israel
Charity of Choice: Dallas Education Foundation
What made you decide to take part in Movember? It is all-around education and awareness. In October we contributed to some activities around breast cancer awareness and my daughter was asking questions. She wanted to know what is it and why. I thought that this would be a nice way to drive my kids’ curiosity, and use that to educate them.
Why did you pick Dallas Education Foundation? When it comes to charity my motto is “Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day; teach him how to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime”; it’s all about education
Do you have a significant other? Yes
What does he/she think of the facial hair? Loves it, but as long as it is just for November
Think you'll keep the 'stache once Movember is over? No
