These days, relationships can start, flourish, and even end online. In some cases, they only exist online.

MyGirlFund, a website created in 2008, is a place where men pay to meet "girl-next-door" types and the women, who set their own prices, get paid to chat. The thing is, no personal information can be transfered and users are not allowed to contact each other off the site.

So what does being a virtual girlfriend entail? Our friends at The Daily Beast spoke to the site's founders and investigate whether the site is like Facebook or more of a way to hire an online call girl.

"A lot of girls are able to change their lives through MyGirlFund," MGF director of business development Stefan told The Daily Beast. "They learn about themselves and about business."
