Hung Up On Your Ex? Download These 4 Apps

With the summer coming to a close, the sun is likely setting on several short-term romances that began in the heat of the season.

The only problem with summer flings cooling off along with the temperature: heartbreak, naturally — plus the hefty amount of longing (complete with some serious Facebook stalking) that comes with breakup-induced devastation.

Now, before you go misinterpreting every status update and Tweet your ex sends out into the universe, you may want to disable your social media notifications and download some more helpful mobile applications, instead. Interestingly, there are plenty of apps available for those who need some help moving on. Since we are big proponents of "Breaking Up With Your Ex," here are four apps that are worth a download.

Badoo. Perhaps the best way to get over your summer fling is to begin a new romance; or, at the very least, make some new friends to keep yourself busy. Boasting an enormous user-base, Badoo is a social community where everyone is looking for new connections — the app allows you to find users nearby with common interests and chat with them. If all goes well, you'll have forgotten about your ex in no time.

Happy Houred. Sometimes, you've got to just put down the phone and put yourself out there. Don't know where "there" is? No worries. The Happy Houred app shares the locations and user-written reviews of happy hour events in 2,000 U.S. cities and towns. As with most happy hours, the best deals attract the biggest crowds — and, of course, several potential love interests for you to scout.

Groupon/Living Social/Life Booker/etc. Speaking of putting yourself out there and saving money — daily deal sites are the way to go. So your ex never wanted to try hang gliding? Screw him and buy the deal. Plus, from time to time these sites will run savings on singles parties, speed dating and other matchmaking opportunities.

The Daily Plate. Step one in getting over your ex (or making him regret the breakup in the first place) — total body makeover. The Daily Plate is a Livestrong app that helps you track the amount of calories you take in and the amount of calories you burn; the perfect recipe for a fitness overhaul that will have your ex drooling where he stands.
