The saying, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" seems to ring quite true – looks like Pilar Sanders, estranged wife of former football pro Deion Sanders, has unleashed her rage on her husband!
According to TMZ, Deion Sanders claims he was at home when Pilar, in a rampage, burst into his room and started "kicking, biting, and scratching" him in front of their kids. Moments later, he took to Twitter to claim his innocence and Pilar was arrested.
"Pray for me and my kids now!" he Tweeted. "They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She's going to jail n I'm pressing charges! ... I'm sad my boys witnessed this mess but I warned the police department here that she was gone try n harm me and my boys."
Meanwhile, according to CNN, Pilar was charged with a misdemeanor and held overnight in a county jail until she was released on Tuesday. As you can probably guess, she's not only pissed, but wants her fair shake in all of this. 5 Celebs Who Overcame Domestic Violence
"I'm a full-time mom, 100 percent for my children," she had been quoted as saying. "And I just haven't been given a fair shake."
Things don't seem to be getting too much better for Pilar, who, thanks to a protective order, is banned from returning to their home for two months and can't harass members of her family. Pilar's reps aren't having it and are claiming that she isn't totally to blame here.
"I can tell you that there are two sides to every story, and the truth will come out in court," says Larry Friedman, an attorney for Pilar Sanders.
Truthfully, we're not surprised that this is going to be a hard case for Pilar. Deion's a legend from his football days, and still has quite the strong public following. Although the former couple starred in their own reality show, it seemed that Deion maintained his squeaky-clean rep.
On the other hand, in addition to this new assault case, Pilar is also in the middle of another lawsuit with her estranged husband, demanding $200 million dollars from him and his daughter Deiondra for making alleged slanderous comments. $200 million seems a little steep for some false statements, and this certainly doesn't do much to paint her in the best light.
We're not sure how these cases will end up, but it's clear that neither side is playing here, which means nasty legal issues are likely to get much uglier.
We guess all is not fair in love and football!
