The 24-year-old model/actress reveals how her tennis superstar hubby worked for her affection.

Brooklyn Decker isn't your usual model turned actress. Sure, she's got the eyes, the hair, the body and the husband, but beneath that is a self-described "ordinary girl from North Carolina" who wants a whole lot more out of life. Even being on the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue (her last modeling job) didn't do it for her.

She tells UK's Daily Mail: "I loved the travel but I didn't love the work; I mean, come on, modeling is only so stimulating!"

Apparently, it takes a lot to stimulate the 24-year-old, who we'll be seeing in the upcoming flick, Battleship. Even her husband, tennis superstar Andy Roddick had to work hard for her attention. He saw just how sweet she was from a television talk show and "He got his agent to call my agent," Decker tells the Daily Mail

She spent five months ignoring the tennis star until she finally called him back. Roddick took her to dinner and a comedy show for their first date, and it was then that she knew she would marry him. "He wooed me," she says, and recalls thinking, "This guy is a catch. This is the man I'm going to marry." Andy Roddick, Brooklyn Decker Say Babies Can Wait

"He made me laugh – he is hilarious and he is also chivalrous," she adds.

She also shares her secret to their successful marriage: "A lot of times in relationships you make so many sacrifices for the other person that you almost lose yourself. I've found that nurturing my own life is just as important. It is so important to support each other's passions, but what I'm learning is that people need their own independent accomplishments to feel good about themselves."

So, pretty much don't expect her to get into her husband's love of sports anytime soon. "I figure it's a dangerous situation to try to learn a skill from somebody you love," she says. "Stay far away and leave the tennis to him."

Smart girl – she hit it big in modeling, acting and love!
