It had to come sooner or later: There is now a way to announce your pregnancy on Facebook. In the "Friends and Family" section, you can add "Expected: Child" as one of the family members, and announce the baby's due date (month, day and year), as well as its sex and name. Personally, I think you really don't want to jinx something like pregnancy—as morbid as that sounds. Plus, it's a little creepy for social media to know everything about you. If you really wanted people to know you were pregnant, you could put up a status update rather than give Silicon Valley yet more demographic info about yourself. But maybe I'm just old like that. Some bloggers also think the "expecting option" takes all the fun out of pregnancy, which is another good point. Don't let my grumbling stop you, though—there are probably plenty of reasons this is a good idea too.
