Christina Aguilera & Jordan Bratman Split!

What is going on in Celebrityland? First, Ben Harper surprised Laura Dern out of nowhere with divorce papers earlier this week, even though there were reports that the two had been intimate as recently as 7 days ago! Next, their friends and frequent double date partners, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, announced yesterday that they have separated, amid rumors that both of them have cheated and/or that they had an open marriage. And, now, Christina Aguilera, whom we lauded only a few weeks ago for having, surprisingly, surpassed both Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson to be the only '90s pop star to end up in a stable marriage, has also reportedly split from Jordan Bratman, her husband of 5 years.

"Yes, they are separated," said a source to People Magazine. "Right now, they're just trying to figure things out. There are no divorce proceedings at this point."

While Laura Dern has been abruptly dumped in the past (by an Angelina Jolie-obsessed Billy Bob Thorton,) and there had been rumblings that all wasn't well inside the Cox-Arquette camp, Christina and Jordan's split comes as a complete surprise. (Although perhaps not to the speculators that always wondered what the buxom blonde singer saw in the rather average-looking music producer.)

"They have their ups and downs like all married couples. They argue like everyone else," said a friend to the magazine just a month ago.

However, while Christina's career has reportedly hit a down-turn of late, the singer seemed confident in her marriage and even dished out some love advice in a recent interview with British Cosmopolitan. Christina Aguilera Dishes Out Marriage Advice

"Marriage unites you and makes you official, but it didn't change our relationship. All the things like wanting to work hard and play hard - they were always important to us," she said at the time. "We've been married for five years now, and I think the secret is in always keeping it interesting. You have to make time for yourselves."
