Mrs. Spelling Blasts Tori & Dean, Gosselins

Don't you just hate it when moms get computer-savvy?

Candy Spelling took to TMZ yesterday to blast daughter Tori for setting her up to be part of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. Candy felt she was invited to meet Tori's daughter for the first time as a publicity stunt for the show, an enticement for America to tune in and witness how Candy would react to meeting her granddaughter Stella for the first time. The meeting was to take place at Stella's first birthday party in front of lights and cameras, and apparently Mrs. Spelling hates that (yeah right). But instead of ducking away from the spotlights quietly, Candy posted her letter to Tori on TMZ addressed

"EXCLUSIVE TO: TMZ.COM

TO: MIDDLE-AGED REALITY SHOW STARS (LIKE MY DAUGHTER)

FROM: CANDY SPELLING"

to state the following:

"At the time I emailed 'yes,' I didn't realize I was being set up for a two-[part episode], even though it was clear I was being invited to be part of a segment for my daughter's reality show. I decided my first meeting with my granddaughter should be on home video, not primetime cable; so I e-mailed that I would not be attending."

She also cited her husband (Tori's dad, the late mega-producer Aaron Spelling) and said that he would have criticized Tori's formula for fame: whining endlessly about everything's that's wrong in her personal relationships so that the drama can be aired to the whole world. Candy continued that reality TV parents should stop making their children props for their own fame, clearly pointing a finger at (and trying to get some attention from) the Gosselin craze. While Dad Spelling was without a doubt the patriarch and provider of the family's riches and notoriety, the infamous ongoing conflict between Tori and Candy is what they may currently be known best for. In Tori's now multiple autobiographies she has complained about her strained relationship with her overly critical mother, and Candy has been known to take to the airwaves or famous publications to try to dispel the nasty name Tori's made for her.

Why don't we spell it out for the Spellings: be nice to each other. Even with the help of your overdone plastic surgery, life is short. You've only got one family. 5 Nastiest Celeb Divorces
