According to AceShowBiz (via gossip wankster Perez Hilton), Katy Perry and Josh Groban might have a little something cooking in the love department (with each other). Nicely done, Josh Groban, nicely done. Or is this nicely done, Katy Perry, nicely done? It's a little hard to tell is one or the other is playing out of his / her league.

As you may recall, Katy Perry was dating Gym Class Heroes star Travis McCoy. In fact, there was proved-false conjecture that the two were engaged (would it be too much to ask that you, the celebrities, and we, the weirdies who write about you, make a pact that goes like this: we don't guess if you're engaged and you don't wear a ring on your left hand's ring finger, aight?) But, Katy Perry and Travis McCoy didn't last. We assumed there was some sort of creative differences. The media, overzealous as we are, jumped the gun on a possible something-something between Katy Perry and Benji Madden, and it turned out to be an untruthitude.

And, per Who's Dated Who, Josh Groban was most recently in a relationship with January Jones (though it's supposed to have ended years ago). We've said it before and we'll say it again, chicks dig the dreamy, wavy mop-top.

Oddly, this match makes a lot of sense. Groban's classical pop sound is incongruous enough with Perry's lipgloss pop that a duet is highly unlikely. We feel that keeping the things strictly personal (or, alternatively, strictly professional) is typically the way to go.

We've never been a huge Josh Groban fan but researching this post we learned that JG plays the piano, drums, flute, pipes and sings like a bloody angel. On top of that, he went to Carnegie Mellon for a semester-ish and has no sense of taste or smell (don't tell Katy Perry that, hi-oooo!).

If this thing is true, maybe Katy Perry's style will rub off on Josh Groban a bit, a crazy outfit might be a nice change of pace from his usual black suit with black tie.
