My journey to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist started in 2003 when I first began work with The Salvation Army in San Diego providing therapeutic treatment to adolescents, children and families who experienced trauma and substance abuse issues.
In 2005, I was deployed to Louisiana with The Red Cross to provide aid to persons and families effected by Hurricane Katrina. It was this experience that solidified my desire to help individuals and families and inspired me to continue my education. I completed a master’s degree Marriage and Family Therapy in 2008.
Since then, I have found my nitche providing Couples Counseling. In early 2010, I started advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an empirically based treatment method for distressed couples. In other words - it's been proven to work!
