After a previous career in the entertainment world, Carin received her masters degree in Clinical Psychology and then continued her professional training at the renown Maple Center in Beverly Hills as well as working for various family clinics throughout Los Angeles.
Carin has worked with clients struggling with a wide spectrum of issues including depression, anxiety, career problems, life transition, and specifically women and relationship issues.
Recently, Carin launched her popular video blog, http://BeTheSmartWife.com, dedicated to helping women to make "smarter" choices in their relationship.
Carin is currently in private practice in Los Angeles where she provides therapy for adults and couples and is also a contributing expert for www.parentsask.com as well as www.momrenewal.com.
When she’s not in the office, she’s busy running around with her two very busy kids and is always discovering new ways to act “smarter” with her husband of over 10 years.
The Reason I Became A Helping Professional
"Behavior has meaning." I tell this to my clients always. Understanding what makes us "tick" is invaluable knowledge as well as major a key to life satisfaction. If we are unable to understand what's underneath our behaviors, as well as how to connect with others on an intimate level, then our growth potential becomes stunted.
As an expert in women and relationships, I have seen many wives become their own obstacle in their marriage by not seeing how certain reactions toward their husband have a negative impact on the relationship. It has become my mission to re-educate wives so that ultimately women are making “smarter” choices which then lead to satisfying marriages.
The divorce rate in our country is still rocket high and if I can make a difference in helping adults learn how to take better responsibility in their marriage, and ultimately feel happier in their relationship, then I have done my job.
There is no such thing as a perfect marriage or a perfect Hollywood romance. What is possible is a healthy marriage where two adults are willing to accept each other’s differences while also having realistic expectations of each other.
